1. Make sure you have a wireless reuter close by and that both or all people are connected to it with reasonable signal strength. 2. have one person create a lan server 3. have others connect to it in the find server menu under the LAN Tab
You need a LAN connection, then go under LAN tab.
Counter Strike: Source is Multiplayer, SinglePlayer, and LAN Accessible. When it opens you will see Multiplayer twards the Middle of the Left Hand Side of your screen.
When you press "Create New Multiplayer Game", you automaticlly start a LAN server. Someone else on your network just needs to connect to it. The IP will be something like: 192.168.#.#:27015

I believe you just host a server, and if people are around you and they have the same game, they can join it.
i know of counter strike but you hAVE OT PAY FOR THAT but im sure almost any games you can do it on but youle most likely need a adapter or something to connect your computer.
You press "start new multiplayer game" then on the other computer (on the same network) press "find servers" Then press "LAN" if you cannot find the server there, open the console and type "connect <ip>" ip=internal IP address of the server computer
I'm not sure what you mean by updating the LAN...To update a server you can run it with the -autoupdate parameter. To update the server configuration you can wait until mapchange or type "exec server.cfg" in the console.
allows a single computer to connect to a LAN allows a single computer to connect to a LAN
First thing to check - are you actually connected to their LAN? It's not much use triyng to connect to a LAN game if you aren't.
An LAN card is a must if you wish to connect to a LAN but it is not required for WAN
