How do you convince parents to get you a pet?

Well, if you are in middle school, high school, ect. then get good grades. This will show your dad how responsible you can be.Or, if you aready have a dog or any other animal, take good care of it and it will show your dad how commited you will be if he gets you a puppy. Don't whine, nag, throw tantrums ect. this WILL DEFINITELY show your dad how immature and unresponsible you are. A dog is not a toy you play with and you throw out when you get tired of it, a dog is pretty much a life comiment. But, I hate to tell you this because I want a dog really bad too, anyways, if he tells you no constintly, thats his final answer. Some things to think about: Do you have the space, money, right supplies for a new puppy? have you thought about the breed that would suit your family, and not just what you want? And are you really commited to getting a new puppy? Have you thought about the proper way to "puppy-proof" you whole house? Are you able to pay vet bills? Will you have time to train your puppy? Who will watch and pick up the messes it will make? You my friend, hav a ton to think about before getting a puppy. And, if you do get a puppy, wt breed will you get? Don't tell me you want a Morkie or a Chweenie, because those dogs are pure mutts, not designer dogs..but mutts..they want you to spend a lot of money on a mutt when you could adopt a dog for 80$ for a puppy at a pound..so technically speaking...adopt don't buy..unless you know a good breeder around your area. But, do your homework about the breeder. Make sure they are licenced, and they show you shot ecords of the puppy and the vet name. And, make sure you know what a HEALTHY puppy looks like..GOOD LUCK! I really hope you get a wonderful puppy! ;D

Well you can start off by asking him to take you to the petstore. Then once you see one you like ask him for it and tell him that you will look after it and that he doesn't have to pay all at once and he could pay about 30 dollars or so each month. Then if you have research on dogs tell him all the good things about them. Also don't forget to go on your knees and BEG!Good LUCK(it worked for me!)

Well if youeally wnat a pet your going to have to prove to your parents that your responsible. So what you shuldo is, if you already have a pet such as a dog show some responsibility by walking it everyday, feeding it, giving it baths, or cleaning up after it. If you have a cat then clean it's litter box and feed it that will show your parents your responsible. if you have any other pets then clean out there cages,tanks,etc. Now I would say if you did that then you are very responsible and that you care about your pet. If you don't have any pets at all then you should keep dropping hints to your parents and be responsible around the house such as, doing the dishes,keeping your room clean,taking out the trash, and a lot more things that you think would make your parents happy. If your parents still say no then right them an essay and let them read it, make sure you've spelled everything right and also make it impressive. If they still say no after that then I'm sorry no is no you can get one when you move out.

If you argue with them about things like helping around the house or not cleaning your room you aren't responsible for taking care of a pet. Pets require food, water, walking, space, and love and if you don't take care of them they die. This is why how responsible you are is important.
