At the front of the engine, over the fuel pump one will find the thermostat housing. It is recognizable by the larger water hoses connected to it. Remove the hoses, unbolt the top of the housing and remove. There is usually two holding bolts but don't discount three. Observe how the old thermostat comes out. It sits freely in the hole and can be lifted out but the new one needs to be replaced exactly, you can put them in upside down. Clean both sides of the housing throughly. A new gasket should come with the new thermostat. If one is not available, use a liquid gasket, it comes in a tube and can be purchanse most anywhere. Put the liquid arough the bottom side of the face of the housing, put the top of the housing back on and bolt down, replace the hoses and that should do it, not complicated at all. Maintain that anything else might also be held by one or more of the housing bolts.
