There are basically three ways to mark a book as read on the Kindle: 1. Use the "dots" indicator under the book title on the Kindle main screen. 2. Move to Archive section, which effectively deletes all but the title from the Kindle. Of course you should ensure a back-up is available for future re-download if necessary. 3. Create a new collection called "Books that have been read" and assing books that you have read to that collection. Further details below.
The Singular form of a Kindle. A Kindle single is defined by Amazon's press release as "Kindle books that are twice the length of a New Yorker feature or as much as a few chapters of a typical book."
First of all, you have to have the Kindle3 or, if yours is an older one, make sure it's updated. For the Kindle2:On your Home screen, go to the book you wish to add to your new collection. Push your 5-way-controller to the right. You'll be taken to a menu, and the first option is "Add to collection". Click on that, then choose "Create New Collection". Name your collection using the keyboard. Click Save. The book is now in the new collection. Click Done (on the lower side of the screen). You can add more books in the same way, except instead of creating a new collection you can simply add them to the one you already created.
Amazon's Kindle 2 is 0.5 inches taller than its predecessor. However, the Kindle 2 is slimmer than it's older sibling - 0.34 inches slimmer to be exact.

You have to go into lists, and there you will see 'create new collection'. click on that and then choose a name for it. When you want to add books to your collection click on the collection, then 'add books'. Then you can add all the books you like. Hope this helps!!
