We all come through life with garbage tied to our butts and some worse than others. If she is a very troubled young woman then I wouldn't get involved until she can figure out how she can help herself. Don't date her because you feel sympathy for her or because you think you may be able to change her. Emotional problems go very deep and you could be getting over your head. It takes a professional to resolve these problems and if she hasn't gone for help by now it's highly unlikely anyone can make her go.
