(summary at end if you just need reminding!)

You have to use the grappling hook on the poles to make diagonal ropes. Each dragon head is vulnerable to damage from other, i.e. fire will damage the ice dragon head and vice versa. Sometimes a dragon head will come down the screen and attempt to bite you (it will also bite the rope, disconnecting it from the poles) - just keep moving out of reach and you'll be fine.

If the head on the right rears up to shoot at you, quickly attach a grappling rope bottom left to top right. If the head on the left rises to shoot, attach from bottom right to top left. This will cause the ball of flame or ice to damage the head of the opposite dragon, and after a few hits the dragon will fall, but all's not over yet!

A tidal wave will come at you down the screen. Tap on a pole to jump up onto it, avoiding damage. Jump off again when the water settles, and either slash the icebergs that flow down or move out of their way until the dragons reappear. Then repeat as above until they get REALLY angry and bite away two of the poles, entering the next phase of the fight.

One of the heads will 'power up' its attack by sticking out its tongue to the top of the touchscreen. Use the grappling hook to attach the tongue to one of the poles, causing the dragon to bang its head on the pole. When it's stunned, attack the head with your sword. Keep doing this (and dealing with any resulting tidal waves/iceberg attacks) until the dragon dies.

So...to summarise:

  1. Use diagonal grappling ropes to deflect balls of flame or ice back to the vulnerable opposite head, until the dragon falls.
  2. Jump onto a pole to avoid the tidal wave, then jump down again.
  3. Avoid or slash the icebergs until the dragon reawakes.
  4. Repeat 1-3 until the second dragon attack phase begins.
  5. Wait for a dragon head to stick its tongue out (top of touchscreen).
  6. Use the grappling hook to attach the tongue to one of the 2 remaining poles.
  7. When the dragon is stunned, attack it with your sword repeatedly.
  8. Repeat 6-7 (dealing with intermittent tidal waves) until the nasty guy dies.

Ta-da.

you need to ge the phantom sword by getting the three pure metals then getting them forged to make the phantom sword then one hit kill for all phantoms until you get that you can get 10 power gems and go to spirit island and get your faerie of power upgraded and can use the fire sword or shoot them in the back with an arrow.

The boss is some giant...um...thing with a sword. Now, Ceilia will be caught, and the thing is only vulnerable when the "eye" on the bottom screen opens. Keep slashing at the phantom, and when he prepares for a big blow, sidestep it and hit him! Celia should give you an orb. Then, when you see that the eye is open, tap the orb and draw an 8 until time freezes. Go around the boss, and his eye should still be open. Keep attacking it until time unfreezes. Repeat.

When the boss splits into three, use your boomerang to put the three together. She'll be stunned at that time. So keep on striking her with your sword. Do this a couple of times and you'll defeat the boss on the Isle of Fire.

remember when you join them with your boomerang it has to be in order. on your map each one will have a different amoun of horns. start with 1 then 2 then 3.

Easy! First, make a slingshot type thing by linking 2 posts together. make sure that it makes a diagonal line, and when they fire, it will bounce and hit the other dragon. After repeating this several times, changing directions each time, the level will flood. Climb on one of the posts and smash the ice that comes down. Repeat several times until dead.

OK, so when you go into the room, you see four pegs. You have to use the hook you got to beat Gleeok. The twins have face masks that you have to break. Before one of the twins uses its attack, you have to make a rope, using two of the four pegs. Connect the peg closest to the twin dragon that's about to attack with the peg diagonal from it. The attack should rebound off rope and on to the other twin's face mask. But, after the twin's face mask cracks, it eats the rope. To avoid getting bitten, go backwards as far as you can. That should make you just out of the twin's reach. Repeat this process a few times. Soon the twins go underwater, and there are huge ice chunks floating down the river! To avoid the ice from hitting you, hop up onto one of the pegs and, using your sword, slash the ice chunks as they go by. Soon, the twins will appear, after all the ice floats down. Once again, using the hook, break the twins' face masks. Then, after that, ice chunks are floating down the river again! But, after the twins rise up out of the water, one of the twins eat the two front pegs! After that, you use the hook technique that you used to break the twins' face masks on them again, except with the two back pegs. Soon, Gleeok should fall down, and you've defeated Gleeok! Then, a bridge will appear. Run across it into another room, and there's the Azurine! Grab it and get out of the temple.

the fight will be divided into two sections: in one you will not control Link to fight it, and in the other, you will.

The first part goes like this: There is an area with quicksand so you can't cross it. But, Gongoron, a young Goron and the son of the Goron Chieftan, will show up, and you will control him. Avoid the fireballs and his charge attacks, then when he bashes his head on the wall and is stunned, double-tap Dongorongo (the name of the boss) rapidly, and you will enter the "Critical Point" (where you have a chance to deal actual damage to the boss) and Link must send a Bombchu into Dongorongo's mouth. Do this three times, and a brief cutscene will commence. Then a bridge will form and now Link will fight.

Part 2: Dongorongo will attempt to suck you into his mouth. When he does this, make sure you aren't too close to him (obviously so that you don't take damage) and throw a bomb (regular) into his mouth. Then he will lie down, and attack the blue spot on his forehead as many times as you can with your sword. Repeat until he dies for real.

Note: During Part one, switch back to Link every so often because while he idles, monsters will attack you. Kill them quickly and go back to Gongoron.

Mercay Island

After the opening cut scene concludes, you begin the game as the venerable Link, stranded on the beach of Mercay Island alongside a talking fairy named Ciela. Take the time to adjust to the Gameboy DS's controls, using the stylus to move. When you feel confident enough with the control scheme, head on over to Oshus's house, just to the north. Check around for barrels, jars, and rocks for rupees, the game's monetary units, for future purchases, then head inside.

Oshus's Sword

Besides warning you about the Ghost Ship, Oshus will inform you about Linebeck's boat, currently moored on the east pier. Start making your way there and an earthquake will take out the only bridge there. Talk to the woman there, then return to Oshus for advice. Turns out he has none. Leave and head northwest this time until Ciela warns you about the monsters (and the fact that you're weaponless), then go back to Oshus once again. Speak to him, then go east of the house to the storage cave. Go inside to find a door locked by a secret code. Ciela says that the code is the number of palm trees on the beach, which just so happens to be seven. Draw a numeral 7 on the sign to unlock the door and go in to find Oshus's Sword. Now it's Link's Sword. Go back to the house to learn some combat basics from Oshus, then head west to find the farmer. Help him out with the rocks, and be sure to mark on your map the location of the tree he tells you to shake. Now head north again and show those enemies who's boss, then enter the Northern Cave.

Northern Cave

Once inside, look east for a key, and use that to unlock the first door. To open the next door to the north, pull the nearby levers in the following order: second from the left, all the way left, all the way right, and finally second from the right. Grab the key and head up to the second floor of the cave, which is infested with rats. You'll see one holding a key in its mouth, but it will run away anytime you approach, hiding in the rat holds instead. Deal with this by dragging the block here in front of the hole to the west, which should allow you to kill the rat when it appears in the eastern hole and claim the key. Go through the door now and make your way to the exit.

Outside, speak to the man at the pier, who instructs you to ask about Linebeck at the milk bar. Go do that to learn that Linebeck left for the Temple of the Ocean King to the northwest, which is where you need to track him down. Before we head off to do just that, go to the building all the way to the south to buy a Wooden Shield and, if you can afford it, the Crown. Now go north out of the village, rolling into the trees to check for rupees (there's one down by the ocean with 100 rupees in it!) on your way to the Temple of the Ocean King.

Temple of the Ocean King

Enter and speak to the spirits to hear their woes, then go to the first floor to find a trapped Linebeck. You need to set him free, but much of this place is infected with a curse that will slowly drain your health if you're not standing in the purple areas of your map. You can also break pots for relief from the pain, so keep that in mind. Head to the left first and strike the orb to free Linebeck from the trap, then go grab the key from him. Unlock the door back by the orb and go through. Now go northeast and strike the orb there, then dash northwest to find another orb. Hit it while the other orb is still lit, then go through the door to the north to find the Sea Chart. With that in hand, you can head leave.

Go give the Sea Chart to Linebeck and follow him to the pier. Take the map from Oshus and move the stylus over the island in the southeast corner to reveal the secret mark of the Isle of Ember. Board Linebeck's boat now and make for the Isle of Ember.

Isle of Ember

The town here seems deserted, and that includes Astrid's house. Check the basement of her house, kill the enemies down there, then approach the locked door to find that Astrid is locked behind it; just shout something into the DS's microphone to get her attention. She wants you to go find her assistant Kayo to get the door open, so check that nearby map to learn that you need to find the locations of the three torches on the island. Mark them on your map and head to the house to the south, which is Kayo's. He's not there, so go east along the water's edge to find Kayo's skeleton. Well that explains it. Speak to his spirit, then note the location of the eastern torch on your map. Locate the other two torches (one by Kayo's house and one by the small island to the northwest). When you find all three, head back to the basement of Astrid's house and free her. Let her tell you your fortune, which involves traveling to the Temple of Fire in order to find the Ghost Ship. The gates to the temple should be unlocked now; watch out for the falling boulders on your way to the entrance. There, blow out the candles by facing them and physically blowing into the microphone, then enter the Temple.

Temple of Fire

Boomerang

Start off by going up and east to find a locked door. Jump past it and go southeast to find a room filled with bats. Kill them all, claim the Small Key, and take it back to the locked door in the north room. Check the map on the wall to find the way to the northeast room, then head through the door. Go up through the room, watching out for the sinkholes until you reach the four orbs. Use a spin attack to hit them all at the same time, then go through the door you opened. Go back and climb the stairs to the second level and strike the orb in the upper corner to open the way ahead. When you reach the room with the jellies, kill them all to receive the Boomerang. Get used to using it!

Use the Boomerang to strike the orb to the right to snuff the fire to the left, then proceed to the northwest corner of the map. Strike the two orbs there to open up some steps down to the first floor. Take care of the jellies there, then chuck your Boomerang around the corner to the west to hit the switch; this should lower the blue blocks and raise the red blocks. Go south down this newly opened path, hit another switch to shut off the flames, then continue to the southwest room. Use the Boomerang to take down the flaming skulls and follow it up with your sword, then take the stairs that appear to the second floor again. Kill the firebats you encounter to make a chest with 20 rupees inside it appear, then activate both of the switches to the south to open the north. Go through, scare the rat into its hole, then leave and stand in the doorway. Chuck the Boomerang through and draw a tight flight plan around the rat's hole so that, when the rat comes back out, it gets smacked good. Grab the Small Key it drops and head southeast. Hit the orb then hit the octorock with your Boomerang to stun it before striking out with the death blow. Stand where you found it and hit the switch again, then head up to the third level. Go south and write down the numbers written on the diagram there, then go north and blow out the candles to reach the northeast room. You have to hit the switches here in a certain order as described the numbers: southwest, northeast, northwest, southeast. Grab the Small Key and go through the south door. Proceed to a room with jellies and firebats, then continue north to deal with some flaming skulls. Continue to the northwest room and stand on the switch to ignite the torch. Now throw your Boomerang through the fire to the two unlit torches to set them all aflame. Go through the door you just opened, chuck your Boomerang over the pit to hit the switch and span the gap, then cross over to find the Boss Key. Take it back to the large door you passed earlier and go through to face your first boss, Blaaz.

BOSS: Blaaz
Blaaz will get the ball rolling by splitting into three parts. This is your cue to hit all three sections with your Boomerang to bring him back together, going in order of the number of horns on each clump (lowest to highest; just check your map to be sure). Once he's back together, hit him again with the Boomerang to stun him, then go in with an attack. Keep slashing at him with combos until he splits up again, then repeat this process. If things get rough and you start running out of health, break one of the pots to the side for a heart, but chances are you won't have to!

Now talk to the Spirit of Power, Leaf, to get him to join you on your journey. Take the Heart Container from the chest to boost your total health, then step into the blue portal to exit the temple. Go back to Astrid to receive a Spirit Gem, which you'll use later. Next go see Kayo's spirit to learn the locations of two treasure maps on the island. When you're ready, sail back to Mercay Island and approach the Temple of the Ocean God once more.

Temple of the Ocean King, Part 2

Phantom Hourglass

After the cut scenes with Oshus you'll have the Phantom Hourglass in your possession. With that in hand, enter the temple and Leaf will open the door with the symbol of power on it. Pass through and descend to the first floor of the basement. You can't kill the Phantoms down here, so don't even bother. Avoid them like the plague, and head to the safe zones if one sees you. Start off by going to the northeast corner and stand next to the orb. Wait for the Phantom to the south to start going north toward the door you came in through, then strike the orb and dash south to the two torches. Chuck your Boomerang through the lit torch to light the unlit one; this will cause the flames to the southwest to lower, opening the path ahead. Continue avoiding the Phantoms and go north to find another switch. Hit it to open the door to a Small Key, which you should use to unlock the stairs in the northeast corner of the map. On the second level down, let the Phantom standing near the switch see you, then lure him away from it so you can run there and pull it out of the wall. Quickly dash to a safe zone, then hit the two orbs to make a Small Key appear to the south. Grab it and go through the opened path where you lowered the flames.

Chuck your Boomerang through the flames to the west to hit the switch, then continue to the southwest corner and stand in the safe zone there. Rush to the pot in the southeast corner and break it for some magical juice to make you invisible, then go to the switch and use it to lower the spikes. Throw your Boomerang out to grab the Small Key, then unlock the door and proceed down to the third level of the temple. You need to locate three Force Gems and place them on the pedestals to the northeast. The first one is northwest from the entrance to this floor in a chest, so go grab it and place it in one of the slots. Next go southwest and pull the lever in the corner to lower the flames by the southeast platform. Go there and wait for the Phantom to go under one of the trap doors, then stand on the switch to make the Phantom drop a key. Take it, then head through the locked door to the southwest. Grab the Force Gem there and place it in a slot. The final Gem can be found in a safe zone to the southeast. When all three Force Gems are in position, the door ahead will open. Take it to find the Northwestern Sea Chart. Now return to surface level through the blue portal.

Go speak to Linebeck now, and listen to the other man's advice about having someone named Eddo attach a cannon to your ship. Hand over the map to Linebeck, then blow into the DS's microphone when prompted. You must now sail to Cannon Island, which is south of Mercay Island, so follow your map there.

Cannon Island

Land, then enter the house to the east to find the apprentice. Get him to open the door which leads to the rest of the island, and go through, avoiding the bees as best you can. About halfway down the path, check the beehives for a treasure chest holding a treasure map, then continue to the Bomb Garden.

Bomb Garden

Grab one of the bomb plants here and chuck it at the rocks blocking the way to make a path. Be sure to destroy the cracked wall to the southeast as well for a Power Gem. Throw a bomb over the fence to break the block, then push it into the fenced-in section to enter. When you reach the two blocks preventing you from proceeding, pull the closer one to you out, then push it against the right wall, then finally south to the bomb plant. Now pull the other block right, then up. Grab a bomb to destroy the damaged block ahead, then continue out of the cave to the Bomb Garden itself. Go down the steps and keep going until you reach some damaged blocks just ripe for bombing; you'll have to go back up the stairs, grab a bomb, jump off the ledge, and run east to do this though, so be quick about it. Proceed to Eddo now, purchase the cannon for 50 rupees, then admire your vessels new weapon! Now board the ship. You can try sailing northwest toward the Ghost Ship, but you'll get lost in the fog and won't be able to continue that way just yet. Instead, sail southwest to Molida Island, using your cannon to blast a gap through the wall of rock (just check your map to find out where the gap should be).

Molida Island

It seems someone here is able to break through the fog up north, but he doesn't appear to be home at the moment. Go the house furthest to the east and speak to the woman outside, then the boy inside, to learn that you should check out the cave behind the house for clues.

Molida Cave

Mosey on through the cave, killing the enemies until you reach the enemy with a sword and shield. Beat it back toward the edge of the water to make it drop its guard for a moment, then attack it from the side and back until you manage to land some real blows. The door will open once it's dead. Continue to some bomb plants, which you can use to blow open the cracked wall to find the hideaway. Read the journal to discover that there's a second hideaway! You can find it by drawing lines between the Wayfarer's Stones, then going to where the lines all intersect. Grab the Shovel, equip it, then dig on the section of the floor just below the chest (the slightly different-shaded area) for a 100 Rupee. Exit by taking the northern stairs, marking the Wayfarer's Stones on your map.

The Hideaways

Go back to the village now and mark down on your map the two Wayfarer's Stones there. Draw lines between all the stones to find the point where you should start digging. If you're having trouble finding it, go north from the southernmost stone in the village until you see a palm tree across the path; just dig directly south of this tree, between the tree and the stone path. Take the map off the hideaway wall, which shows you the way through the northern fog, and write the path down on your own map. Grab the Treasure Map from the chest while you're at it, and ignore the odd door for now. Return to your ship now and return to the sea. You can check out Spirit Island to the south or the Traveler's Ship if you want, but they're not required. Your primary destination will be the Northwestern Sea.

Northwestern Sea

Sail up the west side of the map to the Northwestern Sea, and navigate through the fog using the Wayfarer's route. Once you're past it, you can head straight for your next stop, the Isle of Gust, or make a few pit stops first. You can speak to the Wayfarer himself on Bannen Island, located north of the Isle of Gust, or check out another Traveler's Ship to the northwest. There's also the Uncharted Island south of Bannen Island, where you can solve a riddle to speak to the Golden Chief Cylos for a Cyclone Slate, which works as a sort of teleportation device in conjunction with the golden frogs you may have seen on your quest. The riddle says: "It steers with rudder, then makes spray! and third, it paddles, then sees a way!" You must hit the springy rocks in a specific order as said in the riddle. The riddle refers to the shape of the island as a whale. First you must hit the springy rock on the rudder, the tail of the whale. Then you must hit the springy rock on the blow hole of the whale (farthest north). Third, you must hit the springy rock on the paddles, which is the fin of the whale (farthest south on the small plateau). Last, you must hit the springy rock on the eye of the whale. After you hit the last springy rock a bridge will appear letting you head into the cave to meet the Golden Chief Cylos.

Isle of Gust

When you land, go to the southern half of the island and locate the stairs with the bomb plants growing around the bottom of it. Use a bomb to take down the wall to the north to find a chest holding a Courage Gem, then check the map on the wall for some treasure locations. Now head back to the top of the stairs and jump left when the wind is blowing your way to make it over the gap. Continue to the cave on the other side of the platforms and enter. Kill the Goblins here to make chest containing a Treasure Map appear, and open the other chest for a Wisdom Gem. Proceed to the cave's exit, then ride the gusts of wind to the top of the cliffs. Leap off the left side and head that way to find the entrance to the temple. You can't reach it yet, so continue northwest, riding the wind to the upper platform. Continue north along the western edge to reach the northwest corner of the isle, then look at your map. Mark the location of the three windmills, then go east to the sand. Sprint over it to a safe zone before a sandworm pops up and tries to eat you! Blow on the three windmills (use your microphone again), then head back to the entrance to the Temple of Wind. It will be open now, so go on in.

Temple of Wind

Dodge the wind as you go north to a bomb plant; grab the bomb and chuck it north to break the two bomb rows. Continue to the northwest corner, then push the block there east to block the flow of wind. Strike the orb to cut off the next gust of wind, then take the stairs to the east up. Cross the southern bridge, then take the door in the southwest corner. Stand on the switch to unlock the door (which is a quick exit), then go up the nearby stairs. Turn east and head past the wind gusts to reach the southeast corner, where you 'll have to fight through a room full of snakes. You'll see the boss door after that, but it's locked for now. Go west from there to the statue and push it as far southwest as you can. Now stand in front of it so that the wind blows you over the pit so you can reach the stairs going down to the first floor of the basement. Kill the rock monsters down here with bombs, then proceed until you see the two windmills. You have to get these moving with wind statues, so start off by going to the middle platform and locating the switch to the east. Stand on it to drop a barrier to the southeast, then go to that corner to find a treasure chest. Ride the wind gusts there for a Courage Gem, then drop to the ground beside the jets. Push the metal block up and right to make it fit into the third slot from the bottom, then let the bottom jet of wind blow you so you can land on top of the block. Go off the east side of it and take the stairs you find down to B2.

Bombs

Blast through the door with bombs, then proceed to a room filled with sandworms. You can bomb them, but your destination is the middle of the room. Check your map once you're there to find the four submerged airjets, then dig them up to open up a door to the north and a door to the southwest. Go through the north door and bomb through the barrier to reach a way back to B1. Now head south and push the wind statue left to get the windmill moving. Return to B2 and take the southwest stairs now to get the other windmill moving. This nets you a Small Key, which you can use to unlock the door in the northeast corner of B2. Head through to find the Bombs, which you can now carry around! Head back to the center of the map, then go through the door that led to the north windmill, then go back inside. Return to the sandworm room and blast your way through the wall to the left of the 100-piece Rupee. Enter the room and bomb through the northwest crack in the wall, then go back to B1. Chuck a bomb into the jet of air by the door to open the other door, then go through. Look for a tile on the ground in the corridor, then throw a bomb at it to open the way out of there. Continue to the rock room and look for a tile on the north wall, near the west edge. Throw bombs there until you open up a path, then go through. Spin attack the two rows of bombs to find a way to the Big Key, then take it and drop down to the west. Throw a bomb into the jet of air by the boss door to clear away the blocks, then unlock the door and go through to face Cyclock.

BOSS: Cyclock
Cyclock is not a particularly difficult boss, and his few attacks are pretty easily avoidable. The tornados he sends at you can be avoided simply by running away from them, and when he drops down from above to charge you, roll away. As for actually defeating Cyclock, simply stand by whichever of the three airjets is currently active and wait for the boss's shadow to get close. When it does, chuck a bomb into the airjet and let it sail up to blow Cyclock down to the floor. Quickly rush over to him and slash out with your sword until he recovers. Repeat this simple process until Cyclock is defeated.

Beating Cyclock nets you two minutes on the Phantom Hourglass and another Heart Container. You'll also meet the Spirit of Wisdom, Neri, who joins you. Step into the blue portal to return outside. Get back on your boat now and return to the Temple of the Ocean King on Mercay Island.

Temple of the Ocean King, Part 3

Head to the northwest corner of B1 now and bomb through the blocks there, then step on the switch to open the door. Go through for a key, then unlock the door and descend to B2. Hit the two orbs to drop the key, then check the southeast corner of the first room for a crack in the wall. Bomb that and go snatch up the key to unlock the way to B3. Place the Force Gems in the pedestals again, then continue to the Spirit Door, which Neri opens for you. On B4 you'll encounter some Phantom Eyes; don't let these nasties spot you, or they'll call Phantoms on the scene. Stun them with the Boomerang before they do that, then rush in for the kill with your sword! As for your destination, go southeast to the safe zone on the east wall, then go south and chuck your Boomerang through the airjet to strike the orb. This should shut off the wind. Now, still standing where you were, throw the Boomerang down to strike the Phantom Eye. Quickly kill it, then run west to the western safe zone. Take out the Phantoms Eyes around you, then head to the southwest corner and dig in the soft area of the ground so you can jump to another orb. Hit it to shut off most of the airjets here, then go east of the western safe zone and blow through the crack in the wall to find a switch. Use it to lower the spikes guarding the room with the key in it, then go claim that Small Key and head down to B5. Head west over the spikes when they go down, then chuck your Boomerang at the orb to the southwest. Go east now to break some jars, then enter the room with electrified jellies. Kill them all, then head along to the room filled with goblins. Proceed northeast now and activate the switch in the northeast corner to descend to B6.

In order to unlock the door here, you must inscribe upon it a symbol. How do you find this symbol? Simple: you must examine the six crests in the six surrounding rooms and draw lines between the crests in a certain order. Start off in the northwest corner and dig up the airjet there. When the air stops flowing, place a bomb on it, then let the bomb get carried up to the blocks to detonate and destroy them. Hit the switch, then look at the crest to see that it's both the start and end of the symbol, so mark it with a 1 and 5 on your map. Next go down the path to the west, then hit the floor switch to reach the western crest, which, incidentally, you donotwant to examine. Proceed to the southwest crest, bombing your way to it to learn that it's the third in the sequence. Head over to the southeast crest next by hitting the switch to see that it's the fourth, skip the eastern crest, then check the northeast crest to see that it's the second in the sequence. If you draw a line now through the crests in the correct order you'll see that they form an hourglass shape. Draw that on the locked door to head on through to the map room. The star crest says to "press the sea chart against the sacred crest." This means you must open the sea chart to the southwest section and have it displayed on the bottom screen of the DS with the gray map on the upper screen, then close the DS. Open it up again and the location of the sea crest will be on your own map!

Head back to Linebeck now and set sail for Cannon Island.

Cannon Island, Part 2

Salvage Arm

Go find Eddo and speak to him about the Salvage Arm, which you need to attach to your ship. You can buy this from Eddo, but his price will lower the louder you shout into your DS's microphone, so go find a secluded location and scream your lungs out for a descent price. Purchase the Salvage Arm and then return to the open sea.

Sun Key

Now you can haul up those treasure chests you've marked on your map. If your salvage arm breaks, get it repaired at the shipyard on Mercay Island, but do try to avoid this and just be careful. In any case, sail to the spot marked on your map and haul up the Sun Key, then return to Molida Island.

Molida Island, Part 2

A beast of the sea will attack you before you can reach the island, so keep your distance and unload your cannon into its eye! When it's dead, land on the island and head to the wayfarer's second hideaway, taking the path to the door you can unlock with the Sun Key. Continue outside and go northeast to find a statue on the upper cliff. Strike it with your boomerang to make it aim a beam of light at the door to the next temple. Now head east to find another statue. Strike it with your sword, then tap it again so you can manually aim it at the temple. Now go south to face a couple of those annoying monsters you faced in the Molida Cave. After you've defeated both of them you'll see the final statue; point it at the temple door and it will open for you. Gather your courage now and enter…the Temple of Courage.

Temple of Courage

Start off by going north past the spikes, then follow the path as it turns south, watching out for the spinning blades. Open the chest on the platform for a Small Key, then unlock the door to the northeast. Continue to the room with a pair of worms and kill them by attacking the pink sections of their bodies. This will make some stairs appear, so take them down to B1. Ride the moving block and go west, then keep striking the enemy on the next platform to keep it off. Continue over the platforms to the stairs to the west, then fling your boomerang at the switch to make it glow blue. Take the stairs back to the first floor and head north to the two signs. Lay a bomb just to the east of the western one to find a path going north to some treasure chests and a map. Write down the route on this map, and note the sequence of "up, down, right, left" off another sign for later. Continue east, kill the jellies by stunning them first with your boomerang, then slashing them with your sword. You can stun the enemy with large ears by making a lot of noise in the DS's microphone, then swoop in for the kill. When you kill it, grab the Small Key then use it on the locked door to the north to reach the second level.

Bow & Arrows

Using the "up, down, right, left" scheme, hit the north switch first, then the south, then east, then the west one. Take the Square Gem, then carry to the door and back downstairs. Take it to the platform and set it in the square slot to unlock some stairs going to B1. It may look there's nowhere you can go from the platform here, but this is where that route you jotted down off the map will come into play. Follow the invisible path to the Bow and Arrows in the northwest corner. Equip your new item, then fire an arrow at the eye target above the chest to form a bridge to the south. Cross that and strike the blue arrow device so that it's pointing east, then shoot an arrow at it. This should make it hit the orb to the east, if it's not already glowing red. Now head up the steps to the first floor again. Head south, take down the worms and jelly, and go east. Fire an arrow at the target across the pit to open the door to the north, then go through it to find the next Square Gem. Take it southwest to the pedestal and set it in place to open a door to the second floor, which you should take.

Once you've killed all the enemies here a bridge will appear to the east, so cross it, and then traverse the southern platforms. Shoot the two eye targets to the north with arrows to obtain a Power Gem, then head east down the spinning blade hallway to the laser turret. There, jump south and blow up the crumbling brick with a bomb. Shove the metal block north to protect you from the spinning blade there, then take the stairs down to the first floor. Go west, leap over the pit, then activate the switch. This should open the doors back. Now descend the steps to B1. Ride the block to the southeast corner and go north. Use the boomerang to light up all the torches, which in turn lowers the spikes to the north. Take that path to a platform. If the red blocks are raised, chuck the boomerang at the arrow device to the left to make it point west, then shoot it with an arrow. Head on up to the first floor and kill the big-eared monster there with a bevy of arrows (beats using the sword). Take the Small Key, then proceed to the northeast section of the second floor and step on the blue block. Lead it around to the four pillars, using the same scheme as before: north, south, east, then finally west. Go northeast to pick up the Big Key, then take the platform to the Big Door to the southwest. Climb to the third floor to face this temple's boss, Crayk.

BOSS: Crayk
Crayk starts out invisible, but his point of view will be shown on the top screen, so back up against a wall and watch the top screen until you see yourself about to be attacked, then make your move! Turn yourself until you're face-forward in the top screen and fire some arrows until you make contact. That should make him visible to you, so nail him with your sword, or more arrows. Repeat this until you've removed Crayk's shell, then get your bow ready. When Crayk approaches you, fire an arrow at his head to stun him, then run behind him to slash at his tail. Keep this process of stunning his head and attacking his tail to defeat Crayk.

With the Spirit of Courage as your new ally and the Heart Container in your possession, ride the portal back to Molida's surface and return to the pier. Listen to what Oshus has to say, then board your ship and head out to sea. A pirate named Jolene will chase you, but don't bother running. When she boards your vessel and attacks, dodge her attacks and strike immediately thereafter to get a hit in. Keep this up until your swords clash, then sweep the stylus quickly across the screen to win the fight. After that little diversion has ended, and if you have 1,000 rupees, go to Beedle's Ship and purchase the Bomb Bag; otherwise, it's time to find the Ghost Ship.

Ghost Ship

Make for the western half of the southwestern section of the world map, then go north into the fog. Your engine will fail, so you'll have to navigate by hand. Follow your spirit friends and follow them when they start reacting with excitement to locate the Ghost Ship, then climb aboard. You'll start off in B1, so go south, then jump up to open the treasure chest. Proceed west to a room filled with ghosts, take them down, then talk to the girl, who wants you to free her sisters. Head north now and chuck your boomerang between the spikes and the barrels to strike the orb in order to continue. Do it again when you head east after you kill the wizards, then turn southeast when you can't go any farther. Cross the spikes in the corner and strike the orb to lower the fire and spikes so you can proceed. Let the girl to the north follow you, then pick up the Triangle Gem from the treasure chest. Leap over the north pit after chucking the gem across and place the gem in the pedestal to lower the flames. Now lead the sisters together, killing the Spiders on the way. After you reunite them, take the southeast stairs down to B2.

Like the Phantoms, the Reaplings on the Ghost Ship are on patrol, but they will attack you if they see you, so don't let that happen, and stick to the safe zones. Go east, then north to find the third sister, just to the west. Be sure to hit the switch by her, then talk to her. Don't listen to her, though. You donotwant to open the left chest, as it will spawn a Reapling! Open the right chest instead, then open the chest in the middle of the area for a Round Gem. Now take the girl back to her sisters upstairs on B1. Reunite them, then return to B2, and take the stairs in the southwest corner down to B3. Ignore the switches there and go east to a room with spiders you need to kill. Go north to the safe zone, hit the orb, then go the center safe zone, north of the room with the barrels. Write down the code there (usually 2, 4, 5, 1, 3 or 4, 1, 5, 2, 3, but it varies from game to game) which corresponds to the levers at the start of this floor, then go there and pull them in that order. For instance pull the fourth lever first, and then the first lever and so on. When that's done, head to the north end of the barrel room and stand on the floor switch. Leave and dash past the Reapling to the western safe zone. Pick up the barrels to find the fourth sister, then return her to the other sisters. Doing this triggers a fight will all of them!

BOSS: Cubus Sisters
The Cubus Sisters will fire lasers and energy blasts at you, which is a pretty frantic proposition, but those energy blasts will be the key to the sisters' undoing. Perform a spin attack on them to send them back at the sisters. Eventually you'll start knocking some of the sisters out of the fight, leaving the others to send the energy balls back at you even faster than before. Keep spin attacking until only one sister remains. She'll toss three things at you, and only one of the three can be reflected. Do so, letting the other two projectiles hit you, and volley the energy back and forth until it connects and finishes off the final sister.

Now grab the Big Key and the Heart Container, then head to B2 to open the big door and reunite with Tetra. Watch the cut scene with Oshus, then get back to your ship and go east.

Zauz's Island

Zauz's Island won't be on your map, but if you sail north of the Isle of Gust in the northern area of the northwestern quadrant, you'll find it. Dock and go to the northern end of the island, read the sign about treasure, then look for the two western stone tiles. Draw a line between them and do the same on the eastern stone tiles, keeping the lines going south to make them intersect. Dig on that spot for a Treasure Map. Now to talk to Zaus, who says he'll forge you a Phantom Sword if you bring him some Aquanine, Azurine, and Crimsonine. The chart to find these stones is in the Temple of the Ocean King, so head there!

Temple of the Ocean King, Part 4

Head down to B1 to find that the Phantoms have been replaced by even faster versions; stun them with arrows to keep them at bay. Continue down to B2 and look for the enemy with the key to the southeast. Shoot him in the back with an arrow to make him drop the key, then bolt down to B3. Continue through B4 down to B5, and then down to B6 after that. Head to the red door and draw the triforce in one stroke without ever crossing the lines. Continue to the Door of Courage, then head through it to B7. Ride the platforms northwest, using your shield to protect you from the arrows being shot at you. Beware of the sections of the floor that let Phantoms know your location, and proceed to the southwest corner to find the stairs to B8. There's an invisible path over the pit to the east; watch the Phantom to see where it is, stunning him if necessary so you aren't seen. You'll want to note the locations of the circular pedestal to the west and the triangular one, located to the north behind the damaged wall (bomb your way through), before taking the stairs in the southeast corner back up to B7. Take the red jar from the eastern wall here and carry it south. Chuck it just above the Phantom guarding the switch, chuck your boomerang to activate the switch when the Phantom isn't around, then run for the flames that just lowered and get on the platform. Ride it up, then go west and take the Round Crystal from the treasure chest. Cross the platforms to the northeast corner and throw your boomerang south from the pedestal to obtain a Power Gem, then go down to B8 again.

Cross over the pit on the invisible path and set the Round Crystal in its pedestal to lower the spikes. Now go over and activate the switch to turn on an airjet, then head down the steps to B9. Pick up the Triangle Crystal and take it back up to B8, then let the airjet blow you to the upper level. Chuck the crystal to the east, then cross the pit yourself on the invisible path. Place the crystal in its corresponding pedestal, then open the chest that appears for a Courage Crystal. Take the new path down to an orb, which when struck will open another set of steps down to B9. There's a Phantom down here in possession of the Square Crystal, but before you start worrying about that, worry about the invisible ghosts populating this floor! Check your minimap to find their locations, then kill them with your boomerang. As for the Phantom with the crystal, go southeast first and use your boomerang to make the arrow device change direction, then fire an arrow into it to lower some spikes. Now go north, bomb through the blocks, then stand in the safe zone and wait for the Phantom to pass by. Shoot him in the back with an arrow, grab the Square Crystal, and stash it in the safe zone. Now head southwest and stand on the floor switch in the safe zone to take out another section of floor. Wait for the Phantom to come by and take out the floor beneath it to make a chest containing a Strong Cannon appear to the southwest. Go claim it, then place the Square Crystal in the square pedestal in the northwest corner. When the flames lower, head back to B8, with the goal of getting all the crystals down to B9. Take the Round Crystal first and bring it south to the airjet. Jump into it and toss the crystal over the gap. Cross the invisible path, pick up the Round Crystal, and take it its pedestal on B9, in front of the north door. Return to B8, take the Triangle Crystal off its pedestal, then repeat the above process to get it down to B9. Finally, grab the Square Crystal from B9 and place it its appropriate spot to open the door. Grab the Southeastern Sea Chart, then take the blue portal back to the surface.

Equip your new Strong Cannon, then return to the sea and sail to the southeastern section of the ocean, making for Goron Island. You'll have to take down another sea beast, though, before you can land.

Goron Island

It is important that you speak to every single Goron on this island, as it will come into play later on. When you see the sign to shout at the Goron across the way, continue north to find a Goron who wants you to kill some electrified jellies. Head up to them via the unearthed airjet and kill them all to win a Treasure Map. Return to that sign now and shout at the Goron (via the DS's microphone) to make him span a bridge over the gap. Cross the bridge and speak to all the Gorons there, then enter the chieftan's hut. Hand over the 20 rupees to take his quiz. It will consist of random questions from the following list:

How many Gorons live on this island?14How many Goron Children live on this island?6How many Gorons are in their homes right now?7How many Gorons are outside right now?7Of those Gorons outside, how many are adults?4How many homes are there on the island?6The Goron at this spot! What is he staring at?ShipWhat is on this spot?ChestWhat color were the odd creatures on the cliff?YellowHow many Rupees have you won so far?The answer depends on when you're asked this. For the first five questions you answer correctly, you are awarded, respectively, 1, 5, 20, 20, and 100 Rupees, so add however many you've answered correctly to get the answer.

For completing the quiz you'll win back your Rupees and earn a Wisdom Gem. The chieftan then tells you to follow Gongoron, his son, to the Goron Temple. You'll find him on a cliff on the western edge of the island. Follow him to the trail in the east, then to temple. You'll hit a maze, so make your way through it, bombing through the cracks in the walls. When you see the swirl mark on the ground with no crack near it, bomb the wall below it as you did the other walls to open it up, then proceed out of the maze. Chuck some bombs at the wind beast guarding the temple, then head up and extend the bridge for a shortcut back here, just in case. Now go on in.

Goron Temple

If you go east from the quicksand you'll see some jellies that you'll have to boomerang first before you can kill them with your sword, so do so, then drag the statue onto the floor switch to lower the spikes and keep them down. Proceed to a locked door with a statue near it, then throw a bomb at the statue so you can push it north against the door switch. Climb the steps and do that again with the next statue to make a bridge form over the gap. Cross it, then bomb the two statues so you can push them on to the switches and, in turn, unlock the south door. Go through, then fire an arrow east to strike the eye target, which nets you a treasure chest. Now hit the switch to find a fast route to the temple's entrance, should you need to return, then bomb through the cracked wall to refill your bombs. You should see another way through to the east, so return to the main room and detonate a bomb by the other pillars to locate the entrance. Go through and descend the steps to B1. Kill the flaming skulls down here, then head east to meet up with Gongoron, who's trapped. Fire an arrow into the attacking Cyclops and finish him off with your sword. Now you can switch back and forth between Link and Gongoron.

Bombchus

Switch over to Gongoron now, then go south and break through the rocks. Kill all of the enemies to make the spikes lower, then switch back to Link. Use the garden to refill your arrows, then go south and use them to kill all the enemies there. The spikes by Gongoron will lower, so switch back to him and leap west over the pit. Stand on the floor switch, then switch back to Link. Have Link stand on the floor switch to make a chest appear; go open it to claim the Bombchus, which let you control bombs along the ground with your stylus! Now switch back to Gongoron and go to the southeast corner to find a group of enemies; roll over them to defeat them and open the western door. Switch to Link and head through the door, then kill the enemies to make a chest with Goron Amber in it appear. Send a Bombchu through the hole in the wall so it can detonate next to the orb, thus lowering the spikes so you can descend to B2. Take care of the bad guys down there, and blow through the rocks to reach a pair of switches. You need to activate them simultaneously, so stand next to one and send a Bombchu out toward the other. When the Bombchu is about to detonate next to the switch, have Link strike the switch he's next to. This should lower the spikes, allowing you to head down to B3.

Kill the enemies down here to make a treasure chest appear first, then look for the hole in the north wall. There are two switches beyond it, one which changes the blocks from blue to red and back, and one above the quicksand. To reach that second switch, first make sure the red blocks are lowered, then trace a path for a Bombchu to the switch. While it's heading there, hit the other switch with your sword after the Bombchu is over the red blocks so that it can pass over the blue ones, too. Once the other switch has been activated, go northeast, nail the statues with bombs, then set them on the floor switch to lower the southeastern spikes. Head there to find some stairs back up to B2. Enter the room to face off against a pair of Cyclopes, then head to the northeast. While standing next to the spikes, send a Bombchu all the way to the northeast switch to activate it; as soon as you do, have Link run across the path where the spikes were before they come back up. Continue west and use your Bombchus to take care of the rocks and snakes, then hit both switches west of the quicksand to make chest containing the Boss Key appear. Grab it, then go back down to B3 and unlock the boss door. Stock up on hearts before going down to face the boss, Dongorongo.

BOSS: Dongorongo
Though you can control both Link and Gongoron for this fight, Gongoron's the one you'll want to use the majority of the time, since Link can't progress north past the quicksand. Still, you'll need to keep an eye out for the snakes (represented by skulls) and switch back to Link to kill them if they get too close. As Gongoron, circle around the boss and try to use your targeted attacks on its side. When you manage to knock Dongorongo over, switch to Link and send some Bombchus straight at the boss's mouth to inflict the actual damage. Keep up this process until you enter the second phase of the fight, which Link has to fight alone. Cross the bridge and get ready to dodge the flames that Dongorongo spits at you. Wait for the boss to start inhaling, then toss a bomb into its mouth to knock it over. Quickly rush up to the blue marking on its back and attack it repeatedly; keep this up until you take Dongorongo out permanently.

Claim your Heart Container and the Crimsonine to the north, then take the portal outside. Go speak to the chieftain again for 200 rupees before you set sail to the northeast corner of this quadrant.

Isle of Frost

When you find the Isle of Frost, circle it and blast through the ice barrier with the cannon until you've knocked all of it down, then land. Enter the village and locate the chief's hut to the east. Speak to him for some direction: you need to locate the Yook in the Anouki Estates to the north and prove that he's a liar. Go north to the estates and listen to the six residents' testimony. Everyone will tell you who they think is telling the truth or lying. If you don't feel like working the logic out, the lying Yook is Aroo, so go accuse him. Speak the chief afterward and he'll open the cave to the Temple of Ice for you. It's located to the east, so take it to an ice field with six Yooks for you to kill. Bomb them when they start to breathe in. When all have been defeated, continue toward the temple. You'll be attacked by one more Yook, so deal with him as you did the others, then enter the temple.

Temple of Ice

Grappling Hook

On the first floor, go north, hit the switch to lower the red blocks, then stand between the blue and red blocks. Chuck your boomerang at the switch, then continue to a wall of red blocks and turn south. Hit the switch, then head above the lowered blue blocks. Send a Bombchu back to the switch to raise the blue blocks and lower the red, then continue to second level of the temple, and then on up to the third. Go south, jump onto the post and let loose an arrow at the north switch. That should drop the spikes, so proceed down that path across the bridge to the four levers. There are signs in the corners to the west and south pointing out the order in which you have to pull them. From left to right, the order is 1, 4, 3, 2. Now head through the door you opened to the south and ascend to the upper level. Cross over to the southwest corner and chuck a bomb to the west switch. Drop down, open the chest for a Wisdom Gem, then go back to the steps by the door you unlocked and head to the center platform. Cross to the western platform, the one with a blue tile and a sign on it, and read it. Now stand on the blue tile and throw the boomerang to hit the four switches in this order: northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast. Snag the Small Key with the boomerang as well, then unlock the locked door and head up to the second floor. Fight the Yooks off here, then open the chest that appears for the Grappling Hook.

Equip the Grappling Hook right away and latch onto the post over the pit to pull yourself over. Take the stairs and get ready to fight some spiders; you can pull off their helmets first with the grappling hook to make them vulnerable to attack. Next grapple onto the statue's tongue and pull it out, then head south and hit the switch. Grapple the two statues' tongues and the ice will melt, allowing you to reach some stairs down to B1. Bomb through the wall there to find a switch and activate it to make a treasure chest appear over the pit, then grapple to it. Take the rupees from it, then hit the nearby switch to form a bridge. Cross it and go east. Break the jars and lay a bomb on the blue floor switch, then go north. Use your grappling hook to make a tightrope with the two posts to the east, then cross to the torches. Grapple to the switch to the north and pull it to make a chest appear in the southeast corner. Now go northeast to find a locked door and a statue next to it. Pull out its tongue with the grappling hook, then dash south past the melted ice and open the chest for a Small Key. Go up, hit the switch, then proceed north through the locked door. Grab the Wisdom Gem, then stand outside this room and hit the switch with your boomerang. This should lower the red blocks, so return to your tightropes and go west. Create a tightrope over the two posts to the south of the eye target (the one with the icicles in front of it) and stand in the middle of it. Throw your boomerang up to hit the four targets and melt the icicles, then shoot the eye target with an arrow to melt the ice by the statue to the southwest. Detonate a bomb by the post to the west to reach the statue and pull the tongue through the gap in the wall to the south. Keep pulling it until it will go no farther, then run back to the posts to the west, then on to the open door. Take the stairs down to B2.

Go west, grapple onto the torch to get over the pit, then enter the combat room and kill the enemies within. Now create a tightrope and make your way north past the spinning blade, creating more tightropes as you head as far north as you can. Now turn west and tightrope that way over the pit. When you reach the four switches, perform a spin attack in the center of them; this will unlock a door by the stairs, as well as a chest to the south. Bomb through the south wall here for rupees, then go southeast through the door. Tightrope between the torches, then leap to the upper platform. Continue northwest and shoot an arrow into the eye target to open the door north. Enter the northern room and leap to the small platform in the center of the room, then head north all the way to the blue tile. Stand on it, then create a tightrope between the two posts. Now shoot some arrows at the rope to make them ricochet back into the eye targets; this will make a chest containing a Small Key appear. Go grab it, then use it to unlock the nearby door. Fight back all the enemies for some rupees, then head through the south door. Ascend the hill via the posts and grapple hook, then hit the switch at the top. Head west over the ice path, then hit the next switch to clear the way to a chest in the southwest corner. Go open it for the Boss Key, then take it upstairs to unlock the boss door. Head in to fight this temple's boss, Gleeok.

BOSS: Gleeok
Four posts flank the room in the four corners, and you'll be using these to bounce Gleeok's projectiles back at him. When the battle commences, wait for one of Gleeok's heads to fire at you. With your grappling hook, create a rope, stretching it from the northwest post to the east post if the left head spits fire at you, or from the northeast to the southwest posts if the right head fires at you. Gleeok will retaliate by breaking your rope and trying to bite you after being struck with one of its own fireballs, so watch out! When you've hit Gleeok a few times this way its heads dip into the water and send a tsunami at you; quickly get on top one of the posts and wait for the wave to pass, staying up there as long as you can before jumping down. Dodge the ice as you head to the other side of the platform. Keep up the attacks until the dragons' masks are knocked off and they eat the two posts to the north, leaving you only the ones to the south. Dodge their bites until one head starts charging their tongues up with energy. Quickly grapple the tongue to a post to daze the dragon, then swoop in and attack with your sword. Dodge more ice, then repeat this process until you put Gleeok down for good.

Collect your Heart Container and the Azurine, then ride the portal outside. Get back on your boat and sail once again for the Temple of the Ocean King. Make sure you spend some time dredging up some treasure chests to add time to your Phantom Hourglass, because you'll need it, considering the depths you'll be Plumbing.

Temple of the Ocean King, Part 5

You can either take the shortcut down to B6 or trek through the floors using your new tools. Either way, head down to B9, grabbing the crystal on the way. Take out the ghosts there, then set the crystal in its proper pedestal. Get the Square Crystal from the Phantom, set it in its pedestal in the northwest corner, then open the chest near that for the Triangle Crystal. Put all the crystals in the pedestals by the north door, starting with the square, then following it up with the circular one, and ending with the triangular one. Head through the door, then take the exit to the south to reach B10. Stand in the doorway and send a Bombchu east inside the large square to activate the switch. Try to kill some Phantom Eyes with your Bombchus while you're at it. Go now to the northwest corner and push the large rock south to kill the Phantom there, then grab the Small Key it dropped. Also, send a Bombchu to the southwest corner of the inner circle to activate a switch. Now go to the northeast corner and use the posts and grappling hook to reach the safe zone. Wait for the Phantom to head south, then crush it with the boulder to make a chest appear, off to the west. Keep going east down the corridor and use the switch to get rid of the spikes, the proceed to the south wall and bomb through it. Go past the lowered spikes and continue to the locked door; use your key to go through, and on down to B11.

Stand in the safe zones and take out as many of the Phantom Eyes as you can, then go east and grab the red jar. Head northwest and break it in the corridor with the dig-spot to make a safe zone there. Go activate the switch in the northwest corner to make a bridge form, then head back to the safe zone. Next go to the northwest corner and hit that switch to make another bridge form. Now dig up the airjet and ride it up to the platforms. Step on the two switches, then drop down into a safe zone and head southwest to find another airjet to dig up. Do so, then ride it to the southeast switch and activate it. There's another switch in the southeast corner you have to activate, but you'll want to be standing just above the sonic floor northwest of the switch and hit it with a boomerang as opposed to standing right next to it. Quickly make your way to the airjet and blast to the bridge the switch extends before it disappears! Step on the floor switch, then go through the door to reach B12. While standing in the safe zone there, throw your boomerang at the jars across the way, snag the goodies, then hit the switch to lower the spikes. Take out the Eye, then head to the northwest corner to find another of those wonderful red pots. Take it and bust it southeast of the safe zone, near the treasure chest. Open it for a Force Gem, then hide from the Phantom that appears in the comfort of your safe zone. Return to the north room and place it one the pedestal, kill the ghost that appears afterward, then shoot the nearby Phantom in the back with an arrow to claim its Force Gem. Place that in another pedestal, then kill the next ghost that appears. Now head southeast and take the path to the northeast corner to find the final Force Gem. Grab it and take it back to its pedestal. The door down to B13 will open now, so go on through. Take the book and the Northeastern Sea Chart, then leave the temple.

Get in your boat and set sail for the southeastern sea, then the northeastern sea. Look for the large island surrounded by rocks and a cyclone, then sail northeast of that for the Isle of the Dead.

Isle of the Dead

Enter the cave on the island to find a book; read it, then leave and make for the pyramid to the northeast. Read the sign for a clue about finding the tree on the king's chin and walking 13 steps west of it and 7 steps north. Leave the pyramid and head to the southeastern end of the island to find the tree from the clue. Walk 13 steps west of it and 7 steps north and dig to find a hidden cave.

Regal Necklace

Drop in, then bomb through the north wall to find another clue about facing west from the king's eye and firing an arrow. Avoid the boulders as you exit the cave, and when you're outside, open the chest for a treasure map. Chuck your boomerang at the switch to the west, then drop down. Make your way to the graveyard of the Six Sages and read the signs to learn that you must go north through the first room, east through the second and third, and north through the fourth and fifth. Return to the pyramid now and take those directions to Brant's tomb. Speak to him to get through the locked door, then open the chest beyond for a Regal Necklace.

Isle of Ruins

Now sail back to that island protected by the cyclone you passed on the way to the Isle of the Dead. Your new Regal Necklace will let you pass by harmlessly and land safely on the island. Enter the cave after you dock and defeat the enemy that attacks you within, then read the sign posted there. Leave the cave, then head to the southwestern maze. Make your way through it to the exit, then go east to find some stairs to take you to the northwest area of the island. Dodge the rolling rocks and climb the stairs to the pyramid. Head in and talk to Bremaur, then leave to find a bridge extending over the expanse to the east. Cross it and go northeast to find Doylan. Get the King's Key from him, then bring it back to Bremeur. Use it on the obelisk to lower the sea level, then go east through the riverbed. When you reach the boulders that aren't rolling around trying to crush you, push the one on the top of the stairs west to break another boulder, opening the path ahead. Continue south to another boulder and push it south to break the next boulder. Leave the screen, then come back to respawn the boulder. Push it east to find a Wisdom Gem, then go south. Activate the switch if you want a shortcut to the port, then continue to Max's temple and speak to him.

In order for him to open Mutoh's Temple here, you need to draw a specific crest on the tablet in the hall. Go east into the hall and read the sign to learn your next destination: the maze to the southwest. Read the signs there (five in all), starting with the one in the northwest. Go east from there for the next, then to the southeast corner for the next. Now go northwest to the center of the maze, then to the southwest corner, then north to the first sign to complete the symbol. Go back to the tablet and draw that symbol on it, then go north. Kill the enemies by attacking them from behind, then enter Mutoh's Temple.

Mutoh's Temple

Hammer

When you enter the temple, go north and stand on the floor switches to the east and west to lower the spikes. Descend to B1 and go southeast to find some stairs heading back up to a different area of the first floor. Continue up to the second floor, use your grappling hook to kill all the worms you encounter, then go south to find the stairs up to the third floor. When you've killed all the enemies here you'll obtain the Hammer, your last special item! Return to the second floor and hit the floor switch with your new hammer to open the door. Go through, then stand on the footprints and use the hammer again to hit all the buttons and reach the top of the room. Kill the turtles, then descend to the first floor. More turtles to kill there, so do so, then activate the switch. Go down to B1 now, go west and break the rocks, then head to the northwest corner. Kill the skeletons in the room there with the hammer, then head down to B2. Pound the switches, then go west and ride the platforms over the pit, hammering the switches as you go. Take the Courage Gem from the southwest corner, then ascend the steps by the block for a Small Key. Return to B1 and unlock the door ahead, then proceed over the bones to another locked door. Use your key to pass through, then activate the switch there to lower the water level of the dungeon.

Drop down now and head west to find two rows of three X's and one row of three O's below them. You need to change all the X's to O's, so do this by hitting the middle "O" tile, then hitting the tile in the middle of the square, then hitting that lower-middle tile again with your hammer. Continue south and use the teeter-totter to reach the upper platform. Take the arrows, then fire southeast to hit a switch. This will raise the water level. Proceed south and hammer the floor to make it all one color. Go through the newly opened door and head east. Shoot an arrow at the pyramid switch again to lower the water, then go southeast and take the ladder down to B2. You'll find another X & O puzzle there, albeit a much larger one. To make this puzzle much easier, you can actually hammer the gray tiles surrounding the puzzle to flip only the adjacent tiles on the puzzle's edge. With that completed, cross the bridge to the southeast and head back up to B1, noting the location of the boss door.

Check out the blocks above you and write them down. Ride the platforms up now to find an arrow dispenser, then chuck your boomerang east to make the arrow device point south. Shoot an arrow at it and the water level should rise. Continue east to find some squares that you need to match up with the blocks you saw (and wrote down, I hope) below. Again, you can hammer the blocks around the puzzle to make this easier. When you've replicated the blocks, go through the blue door to the west. If the water level isn't down, drain it, then go down and use your hammer to reach the upper level. Push the boulder left onto the board, then hammer it up to the top of the stairs. Push it right to open the way to a Small Key in a chest. Take it, then hammer up to the north area. Go to the northeast corner and unlock the door to the east. Go down and hammer the boulder up, then launch yourself up after it. Keep this up as high as you can go, then push the rock west. Take the Boss Key, then drop down to the stairs to return to B2. Set the Boss Key on the block and ride across, hammering the skeletons on the way. Head through the boss door to face the head honcho here at Mutoh's Temple, Eox.

BOSS: Eox
Stick to the fringes of the platform and always be on the move to avoid Eox's two main attacks: his fists and the spikes plummeting from the ceiling. Hammer the catapults, then while you're midair, strike the red circles on Eox's body (they're all over the place, including his back). When you've hit all of them, four more will surface on the front of his body, and he'll speed up. Try to nail all four targets on the first catapult if you can. Once you've hit those four spots, only Eox's head will remain. Now use the catapults to get on top of Eox's head, then slash at the blue crystal with your sword. Keep this up until Eox is no more.

Grab your Heart Container and sand for your Phantom Hourglass, as well as the Aquanine, then return to your ship. Set sail for Zauz's Island.

Zauz's Island, Part 2

Phantom Sword

Hand over the three minerals to Zauz and he'll begin work on your new sword. To kill some time while you wait, use your grappling hook to reach a Widsom Gem, and head out to see to find Jolene's ship again. Let her come aboard for another fight, and defeat her again. Now sail back to Zauz's Island and claim the Sword Blade. Take that back to Oshus's hut back on Mercay Island and the powerful new Phantom Sword is yours.

One final challenge lies ahead: a last trek through the Temple of the Ocean King.

Temple of the Ocean King, Part 6

When you enter, take the shortcut to B6, then descend to B7. You can kill those annoying Phantoms now with your new sword, but only if you attack them from behind. Take the platform north, take the Crystal from the chest, then take the stairs in the southeast down to B8. Grab the crystal to the north, then send a Bombchu over to hit the switch in the northeast corner. Go through the door to the north you unlocked and go down to B9, crystal in hand. Set it down near the pedestals. Now take the crystal from the Phantom, then bring the square crystal northwest and place it in the pedestal to lower the flames. Take the triangle crystal from its chest and return it to the pedestals. Next go grab the square crystal. Place the crystals in the pedestals (square, circle, then triangle), then go north and descend to B10. Keep going down to B12. Collect the Force Gems, then head down to B13. Grab the red jar from the northeast corner, then break it by the open chest in the center of the room. When the Phantoms appear, kill them, then head through the blue door that opens. Climb the stairs, and prepare yourself for a trio of boss battles to wrap up the game. First one: Bellum.

BOSS: Bellum
Bellum's primary means of making this battle more difficult is spitting out other enemies to attack you. Kill them, then grapple off Bellum's puffs of smoke until you can grapple directly onto his body. Pull him close, then lay in with your sword to deal the real damage. When he climbs to the second level of the arena, follow him up. Watch out for when Bellum reaches out to strike you, and switch to your bow & arrows. Fire arrows at the eyes on the backs of Bellum's hands until you've hit them all, then follow the boss back down to the first level and repeat the smoke-pulling method to inflict more damage. You'll then have to march up to the second level to shoot Bellum's hands again, but this will be more difficult, as they will be blinking! When they're yellow, then let loose with your arrows. Keep attacking until Bellum heads up to the top level and speeds up even more and hit all his eyes to trigger a cut scene. When it's over, go to the bottom of the area and you'll gain control of the Phantom Hourglass and its ability to stop time. You have to draw the hourglass symbol in order to do this, but it's a very simple sketch that you can pull off in half a second without bothering to be neat about it. Back to the battle: wait for Bellum to get close to you, then draw the hourglass symbol to stop time. Attack Bellum's eye with spin attacks repeatedly until another cut scene begins to play.

BOSS: Ghost Ship
Prepare for a battle against the possessed Ghost Ship! The Ghost Ship will be firing projectiles at you, so take these down by tapping them with the stylus. When the air is clear, attack the ship's yellow and purple eyes. Don't worry if some the eyes regenerate, just keep circling the ship and attacking those eyes. Soon enough you'll start to see two eyes on the ship's deck. Attack these whenever they appear until you're able to actually board the vessel.

FINAL BOSS: Bellum, Part 2
Bellum has one final go at you, in this, the final fight of the game! Your life bar will be the same as it was at the end of the previous fight with Bellum, so you may want to drink some potions if you have them in your inventory. As the battle commences, stop time and aim for Bellum's weak spot on his back. It's shielded for the moment, however, and Ciela ends up getting captured! Lure Bellum over to one of the platform's corners, then lay into him with your sword, dodging his attacks until your blades lock. Sweep your stylus quickly over the screen to break free, then attack! Ciela should escape long enough to refill the Phantom Hourglass, so use it to attack that weak spot on Bellum's back; just make sure his eye is open on the top screen before you do this! Continue this pattern of attack all the way to the end of the battle, being wary of the fact that Bellum starts using more powerful attacks as the fight progresses. He'll also shorten the time he leaves his eye open, so be wary of when it's actually open.
