The word Health Organisation takes a more positive view when it describes Health as 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well- being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity' (WHO, 1946). This is a very general definition because a person's health can change from day to day. It also includes mental and social well- being , which many people would not think to include if they were asked to write down what is meant by the word "health".
