Here are the steps to remove shortcut virus using command prompt:
1. Open command prompt and type "taskmgr" without quotes. This will open the task manager.
- Go to processes tab.
- Find any malicious processes. To determine malicious processes from safe, try to find processes with a different description such as "%wscript%". Also, the process name may be different from the normal processes on Windows.
- Click the malicious process and click "end process".
- Go to start up tab.
- Find and select processes that seems to be malicious (example: VBscript.exe).
- Uncheck the corresponding checkbox before them.
- Click apply.
4. Go to command prompt window and type your drive letter (ex. F:)
5. Type "attrib -s -h -r /s /d *.*" without any quotes. Press enter then wait for prompt to appear. This will unhide all files on your drive.
6. After the prompt appears, type "del *.ink" without quotes to delete all shortcuts on your drive.

press enter now type attrib hit enter
now if found any virus autorun.inf with written SHR
in front of it then
type attrib -s -h -r autorun.inf
now again type attrib and type del autorun.inf
then hit enter and if you find any malware then simly rename it
by typing rename filename as AA
end

In the command prompt enter the drive like ( C: ) then look up for hidden files using command ( dir /a:h )
If you found (autorun.inf ) or any virus files like ( e.cmd ), do these commands for them
( attrib autorun.inf -s -h -r ) ( del autorun.inf )
You can change ( autorun.inf ) to any virus files name like ( e.cmd )

∙ 12y agoWhen you clear your cache; in the pagelocked safety tab in the right hand corner of your desktop, it will remove a virus called ManiCraft v.32 When it removes that area, your desktop lab will confirm an ultra delete rename, which is 100% virus free. Click confirm and enter your I.D Password and it will confirm. Then you will have to wait an hour two three hours for it to wipe of the OS Form; (completely safe, wont loose information) and the virus from command prompt will have blown off your system; Therefore, save the settings and its all free!
This only works when you download Google Chrome, For some reason because Google Chrome supports the delete portion of the command prompt.Wiki User
