when you open the driver's door, there is a sticker on the end of the door that gives you the axle code. In my case, on my 1995 Ford Explorer , it shows that my axle code is D 4 and I know that I have a 3.73 limited slip axle with my trailer towing package. Back in 1995, the only Explorers that had 4.10 's available were the Eddie Bauers that came with 16 " wheels. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just improving my answer : Axle codes D2 - 4.10 traction lock , 45 -3.55 conventional , 42 - 4.10 conventional 46 - 3.73 conventional , 43 - 3.08 conventional , 41 - 3.27 conventional
