In order to disable the air bag, You will have to remove both battery terminals and let the vehicle sit for 15 minutes.
This is to discharge the Air bag capacitors. Regardless, disabling the airbag is VERY Dangerous. The airbags maybe Deployed at ANY Time.
Once the car has sat for AT LEAST 15 minutes with the battery COMPLETELY disconnected, There are connectors in the steering column and dash that are Yellow in color, Disconnect those VERY CAREFULLY, This is One of the most dangerous steps. Once disconnected, It is recommended the Airbag be removed so as to reduce chances for unintentional deployment.
Attempting to disable the airbag maybe considered Illegal in some places. Check local laws and regulations. It is proven that you are much safer in an accident with an airbag than without. Disabling the airbag will also cause a Yellow indicator light to illuminate on the dash. Do this at your own risk.
