The parking brake switch on any in dash DVD player is an important safety feature and should never be disabled. In many jurisdictions it is a legal requirement but even without legal requirements, driving with video content visible to the driver is distracting and dangerous.
you have to hook it up to a basic toggle switch and ground it and when you turn it on you have to flip the switch a couple times,... you cant just ground it or it will show the blue screen
Yes. Take the green wire that is meant to go to the e-brake light switch and ground it to the truck and put a on/off switch in the wire. Every time you turn the vehicle on you just simply rock the switch on then off and the screen will work without the e-brake.
I can't turn the yellow brake or parking lights on my 1998 Chevy blazer off and it's draining my battery.Could you please tell me which fuse or switch I'd use to disable the front yellow lights? This is happening even with the car off.
go to your local parts store and purchase a simple toggle switch. hook one end of the switch to a good ground and hook the wire for the parking brake from the radio to the switch. when you insert a DVD and get the blue screen turn the switch on then off then on again slowly and you will have video
I have a clarion unit and what i did was run the green brake wire to chassis ground, tap in a toggle switch by cutting the green wire & wiring the green wire to the toggle switch. When the clarion unit is on all you have to do is turn the switch off then on, and that will bypass the brake switch allowing to watch video moving or sitting. Mine works perfect.
To disable a kill switch the wiring would have to be modified to bypass the switch. This is not advisable as the switch is a safety feature.
On a 1998 Chevy Blazer, the parking brake switch is located on the top of the parking brake assembly. There are 3 bolts that hold the switch to the parking brake assembly.
Parking switch? Do you mean the parking light switch? If you do, The dash will pull loose on the left top and bottom just above the switch and below. From there you can see how the light switch comes out.
