I wish I had an answer for that. I wasn't aware that it had to be done. I removed my battery cables to clean the terminals and now my van will strand me without notice due to the security system going on and off and not allowing the van to start. I've been told that when the red light comes on in the upper dash where your turn signal indicators are that you can lock and unlock you doors using the key and that will reset it. That only worked once and now I'm stuck with an unreliable vehicle. From what I've read this can't be fixed without replacing the BCM which costs more than a 10 year old van is worth.
