A good start is by reading the instruction manual. If you do not have one, look below this answer for the link to the manual- they are on the Ruger website, under Customer Service.

You can get a manual for free at Ruger's website.
Ruger made a MK III, not Remington.
Ruger will send you a manual for free if you go to their website. Alternatively, go to a gunsmith and ask for help.
If you go to Ruger's website you can download the manual for your mini 14 for free. It tells how to disassemble your gun in the manual.
There is no slide release button on lc9. After the last round the slide locks back, to get the slide forward you have to pull back on it and release. The lc9 is not like many semi autos where the slide can be closed with a button. You have to manually pull the slide back.
If you haven't done this before, you really should take it to a gunsmith and have them walk you through it. Disassembly isn't so difficult, but reassembly can be, in regards to the Ruger Mk. I, II, and III pistols, and it's really not an undertaking you want if you haven't done it before.
Manuals are available at the Ruger website. However, if you've never taken this pistol apart before, I would very strongly suggest you take it a gunsmith and have them show you how to disassemble and reassemble it. Many people find the Ruger Mk. I, II, and III pistols a bit complicated, and the best way to learn is to actually be there, hands on, with someone who knows how.
While not a Glock, the Winchester 9mm is what I recommend the most it doesn't have a lot of kick a lot of power though good for home protection and a good side arm and there should be training you only have to be 18 usually. Still not a Glock, but the Ruger LC9 is a good 9mm.
That is the correct spelling of Ruger, which is named for William Ruger of Sturm, Ruger & Company.
The word disassemble essentially means the opposite of what assemble does. To disassemble something is to take it apart. A synonym of disassemble is dismantle.
