Quests can be started at the blue * (asterix) on the map. This sign indicates a start location of a quest. You can also check the quest log for hints what you'll have to do.

A very reliable source to use is RuneHQ.com, which supplies with all up to date iformation that will guide you through the quest and give you pictures. Another website would be, Zybez. Zybez gives good information with fewer pictures and sometimes the information can be a tad confusing.

There is quest help on the RuneScape website, but personally, I recommend RuneHQ, which gives free, complete walkthroughs for every quest in the game.
