The Water Fuel Separator is located in the V of the Engine. You can remove the decorative cover over the water fuel separator. as you are facing the engine on the bottom back left side is the valve. slide it to the right Open the hood. Place an appropriate container under the filter drain under the vehicle. Locate the fuel filter drain valve. If necessary, remove the engine appearance cover. Open fuel filter drain valve by turning clockwise. Allow to drain for approximately 25 seconds or until clean fuel is observed. Close filter drain valve by turning counterclockwise until firmly seated. Verify that the fuel filter drain valve is closed. If removed, install the engine appearance cover. Close the hood and remove the container from under the vehicle. Restart the engine and check WATER IN FUEL indicator light. The light should not glow. If it continues to glow, have fuel system checked and repaired
if it is a diesel it is built in to the fuel filter that is on top of the engine. on the 7.3l there is a yellow lever on the back of the housing that you can drain the water/fuel from it
Little yellow lever (valve) on left side near bottom of fuel filter housing. Push lever and fuel will drain out of hose near bottom of truck.
under the truck on the inside of the driver side frame rail next to the transmission it looks like a little black thing the drain is in front of the circle
Yellow lever attached to back of fuel filter in "V" of engine, the drain hose ends on front passenger side of block, under a heater hose, it drains about 6 to 8 ounce of fuel when drain is opened, and you want to catch the fuel in a clean jar to see if it has water. You may have to drain it a few times to get all the water out. Start engine between draining of separator, and make sure to close the drain valve after each draining. The water in fuel light should reset it's self.
Where is the water drain for the Water in Fuel light?
Yes, the rims off a 2002 Ford F350 will indeed fir on a 1999 Ford F350.
The high pressure oil lines on top of the motor under the fuel and water separator are rubbing together and causing holes
no changed in 2003
Drain the water from the cooling system. Remove the water hose from the water pump. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Remove the water pump. Reverse the process to install the new water pump.
Sometimes there is no drain plug. Only a cover you need to take off and reseal.
No, the 1997 is an 8 lug by 6.5" pattern, and the 2002 is an 8 lug by 6.693" or 170mm pattern.
Their are 2 fuel filters on a 6.0L Primary which is on the driver side frame rail and the secondary in the engine compartment (next to the oil filter the small one) You can change the filters to drain the water of their is a "Block" on the side of the Primary filter. Using a Allen wrench you can remove the plug and drain the fuel. Be sure to turn key on for 20-30 sec after completing to purge the air. if it won't run or dies out after the process the air usually gets trapped in the small secondary filter in the engine bay. Loosen cap to remove air (watch-out it will be under good pressure) and retest.
