Drawing conclusions is an iterative procedure (you do it over and over until the answers are consistent and match with he facts you are presented with.

Simple Example

  1. You observe something ( Your puppy's kibble dish is empty)
  2. You ask yourself if you have seen this before and reached a satisfactory conclusion. If yes you use that conclusion and fill the dish because the puppy had eaten all the kibble. If no (it's a new puppy and it is the first time you've seen his dish empty) you ask yourself questions
  3. Question: Did the food spill on the floor? Ans. No, there is no food on the floor
  4. Question: Could someone have stolen the food? Ans. Not likely, the food is not worth taking.
  5. Question: Could something have eaten the food? Ans: Yes that is logical , it is food and food is eaten.
  6. Question: What animal could have eaten the food? Ans: You run through all animals that could have eaten the food - lions, bears, goldfish etc. - returning to this question as you eliminate unlikely suspects until you arrive at "The puppy ate the food"

This is your conclusion. You next do the same process for the question "So what should I do abut it?" You is probable that you will come the the next conclusion (Refill the kibble dish.) This is essentially the "Scientific process" and will work for all manner of problems.

As far as I know, Tycho Brahe made detailed observations of the planets' positions; he did NOT draw conclusions from that.
