Some people say all you have to do is wear pink to be feminine. It depends on what type of person you are and how old you are. Obviously you should take care of yourself and do the basics like washing your face, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, exercising, sleeping, ect. You can get a nice hair cut if you want. Also if you aren't a feminine person you shouldn't try to look like someone you are not because it is best to always be yourself.

A lot of people say "wear pink!" or "wear dresses!". That isn't true. You shouldn't wear colors such as grey and brown all the time because to look feminine you have to wear some color. Styling your hair nicely will help. Also try to wear jewelry, because it looks good with almost everything and it ties up your outfit.

Dress for the occasion and don't be a guy. If it is a fancy dinner party don't wear sweats and a t-shirt. Some people may say this looks casual, but it doesn't it looks like you are way to sleepy to get dressed nicely and it makes it look like you don't care how you look. Painting your nails is good for being feminine but remember, try to make your nails look even before painting them and beware of colors that don't look good with your skin. Some people look better with cool colors and others look good with warm colors. Don't sulk around because smiling is friendly and with your new clothes it could make you look even more feminine.

You are who you are ... I mean, do you want to become "girly".

Tomboy, girly girl, in reality they're just childish labels. Who needs to heck with it ... if I had to put myself in one. I'd just say I was in between ... it doesn't matter.

If you "try to be girly", it'll just feel out of place ... just do what you do best, be you.

Depends on what you mean by "feminine." "Feminine" -- meaning having characteristics of women -- is what's called a "social construct." That's a fancy way of saying that each community decides what behavior is typical of women, and what behavior is typical of men.

In the United States in the middle of the last century, it seemed to me that "Feminine behavior" meant moving delicately, being unable to do things like fixing the Plumbing, changing a tire, or jobs requiring a lot of strength like cutting the lawn. It meant being very fastidious, being the family caretaker, being conscious of "proper" behavior and good manners. It meant choosing clothing, hairstyle and makeup with the goal of being attractive to men. It meant letting men make the big decisions.

These days, "feminine" seems to me to be more likely to mean being sensitive to other people's needs and feelings, being the nurturer and caregiver, seeking compromise and consensus, being firm when necessary but not violent or aggressive. In sexual terms, it means letting the man take the lead in determining what to do and when to do it, although not to the point of passivity. Cleanliness and attention to clothing and appearance are also typical, although the goal of attracting men is no longer the paramount goal.

One way to get at this question is to reverse it: how can men (or women) be more masculine these days?
