Simply close the browser tab. The account lives on offline, there is no need to click "save" as everything done is done and the world is not static while the player is offline. The resources continue producing, projects that have been begun continue till they complete, the values of inventory could change depending on if the city is attacked while offline and all other aspects of the play continue. When returning to the game, once logged back in, the players involvement continues. Just close the tab or window, the account is created and continues to exist.
