Using the same outfits, print the Mattle logo off the internet then gather 2 cardboard boxes, paint them pink and go as Ken and Barbie. Another option is Mario and the Princess. Your mate only needs denim overalls, a red shirt and don't forget the mustache.
The concept of paired costumes can be approached in different ways. Costumes can match, be opposites or relate on a particular theme. Halloween is about having fun and costumes don't have to be complicated or expensive. If one half of the couple isn't keen on an intricate costume, brainstorm for a hassle-free match. Maybe one is a vampire, then simply add 2 bloody puncture marks to the neck of the other and go as the victim. Remember, be adventurous and creative but still decide on something you both are comfortable with. Show a little bit of your personality and you are sure to enjoy the festivities without breaking the bank.
