Separate issue, if you need too set the timing following a timing belt change or belt slippage then you have to set the mechnical timing of the motor. Go buy a Chilton or Haynes manual which will tell you where the marks are and you can properly set the timing before starting the motor.

You check and fill under the car on the side of the tranny a plug.
Check the oil fill cap, it should require 5w20.Check the oil fill cap, it should require 5w20.
Fill it at the same place you check the fluid level.
Check the flush valve to see if it is sealing tight. Check the fill valve to see if it needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
The fill hole is the same place you check the level.
how do you check the oil & how much is required?
Check the angle stop. Check the supply line. Then check the fluid master valve.
Pull out the fill plug, the level of the fluid should be up to the fill hole.
Check the flapper and re-adjust the fill height.
