The tube where you check the transmission level is the same place that you add fluid in to it. Use a funnel that has a long neck on it to do this. Always check in with the engine at normal operating temp and running. Good luck. That answer is wrong. I have a 2003 Explorer and there is not a dipstick to check or fill tranny fluid. you must do everything from underneath the car. you also must buy a special tool to put fluid in it
I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. There is no fill plug for transmission fluid. I imagine that the 1994 Ford Explorer would be similar. To fill, use a funnel and pour the transmission fluid directly into the tube that holds the dipstick. Do not fill past the full line on the tank below.
Should be a plug at the side of the transmission - fill to this level
The fluid can foam and cause slippage and/or blow out seals.
On a 1992 Ford Explorer : The automatic transmission fluid dipstick is on the right side ( passenger side ) of the engine , near the firewall ( the manual transmission fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission , underneath the vehicle )
There is no dipstick for the manual transmission , the fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission ( underneath the Explorer )
The easiest way to fill the transmission for an automatic transmission in an explorer is to pour the atf right down the pipe that you check you fluid in the transmission with. make sure you check the level frequently so that you do not over fill.
You can add transmission fluid, by using a funnel. Place the funnel in the same to of which you check the transmission fluid. Do not over fill the transmission.
You know the tube that has the transmission dipstick? The fluid goes into that; there are special funnels at all auto stores.
You fill transmission with fluid through the transmission fluid dipstic tube
You fill a tranny through the dipstick tube. You will need to buy a small funnel.
you fill the tranny through the dip stick hole.
Just had to fill my Transmission after blowing a line it took 5 Quarts
