I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. There is no fill plug for Transmission Fluid.
I imagine that the 1994 Ford Explorer would be similar.
To fill, use a funnel and pour the transmission fluid directly into the
tube that holds the dipstick. Do not fill past the full line on the tank
below.
The easiest way to fill the transmission for an automatic transmission in an explorer is to pour the atf right down the pipe that you check you fluid in the transmission with. make sure you check the level frequently so that you do not over fill.
where is the fill port on a 2004 ford explorer rear end
Should be a plug at the side of the transmission - fill to this level
On a 1992 Ford Explorer : The automatic transmission fluid dipstick is on the right side ( passenger side ) of the engine , near the firewall ( the manual transmission fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission , underneath the vehicle )
There is no dipstick for the manual transmission , the fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission ( underneath the Explorer )
The fluid can foam and cause slippage and/or blow out seals.
You fill a tranny through the dipstick tube. You will need to buy a small funnel.
The automatic transmission fluid dipstick should be near the firewall , in the engine compartment , just on the right side ( passenger side ) of the engine The manual transmission does not have a dipstick , the fluid level is checked underneath the 1993 Ford Explorer at the fill plug on the transmission
For a 5R55S automatic transmission : For the entire system ( transmission , converter , lines , cooler ) The 2010 Ford Explorer Owner Guide shows ( 12.7 U.S. quarts ) The 2004 Lincoln LS Owner Guide shows ( 11.9 U.S. quarts ) It varies for the application when you are going to " fill it up "
The manual transaxle ( transmission ) on your Ford Escape does not have a fluid level dipstick like the automatic would normally have ( it is probably checked at the FILL PLUG on your transmission , underneath the vehicle )
where do yuo drain and fill transmission fluid in a 2004 cadillac srx
I believe the fill plug is on the drivers side of the transmission - with the vehicle level , clean the area around the fill plug and then remove the fill plug and see if the fluid level is level with the bottom of the hole. ( IT IS THE UPPER PLUG , THE LOWER PLUG IS THE DRAIN PLUG )
