There is a drain plug for the transmission fluid under the Sorento. It is about halfway back and is attached to a silver transmission fluid reservoir. All you do is drain the fluid and replace the drain plug. Then add new fluid (about 4 quarts) from the engine bay. There is a dipstick labeled AT Fluid. Remove it and add new fluid there.
To change the transmission fluid on a 2004 Cadillac SRX, start by warming up the vehicle to thin the fluid for easier drainage. Then, safely lift the vehicle and place it on jack stands. Remove the transmission pan bolts, allowing the old fluid to drain into a pan, and then replace the filter if applicable. Once the pan is clean, reattach it with a new gasket, refill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube, and check the fluid level according to the manufacturer's specifications.
The drain plug is located between the shocks.
Dex-Merc or Dexron VI
no dipstick.. it is supposed to be good for 100,000 miles I think. You have to drain it through the pan plug and then use a pump to pump new fluid back in. The place to pump it in is in the other plug slightly above the transmission pan. I think its on the left.
To check the transmission fluid on a 2004 Cadillac, start by ensuring the engine is warm and running. Locate the transmission dipstick, usually found near the back of the engine, and pull it out. Wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the fluid level, which should be within the marked range. Additionally, examine the fluid's color and smell; it should be a clear red and not have a burnt odor.
