Short answer- you won't. Like most states, KY does not have any process or requirement for registration. There IS no information on the history of who owned a gun in the past.
Not all states had the same borders in the past as they do today. To find the original Kentucky borders can be found with a well worded search on the internet and in a book pertaining to Kentucky's history.
A quick Wikipedia search took me to the history of Covington, Kentucky. Perhaps that is as good a place as any to start.

The Kentucky Derby would be considered a part of history, especially that of the state of Kentucky. The Derby has been around more than 100 years.

Kentucky does not have registration of firearms. You CAN pawn a firearm that you own. The pawnbroker is required to make a record of your identification, and description of the gun, including serial number. If that gun is reported as stolen, you would have some explaining to do.
