Contact he Stevens Historian, Mr. John Callahan, 53 Old Quarry Road, Westfield, MA 01085. My Blue Book says the research fee is $15, but I have heard that it has increased to $20 or $25. I think that's a bit too much to find out that your $50-$75 shotgun was made sometime between the late 1940's and 1990.

Massachusetts Arms Company: Trade name used by J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company on firearms for Blish, Mizet and Silliman Hardware Company of Atchinson, KS. The name is also attributed to Crescent Firearms, but a single shot with a Chicopee Falls address is almost certainly a Stevens.

40-75 dollars depending on the overall condition of your shotgun.
MOST of the single shot shotguns do not have really high values. The Stevens is a good gun- dependable, reliable, well made- but not a lot of collector interest. Depending on condition, a Stevens single may be worth between $50-$175. I keep a few of the singles around as loaner guns to new shooters- they are a very good shotgun for a "first shotgun".
This will help you identify the approximate year. Stevens guns were made at the plant in Chicopee Falls, Mass. Guns made from 1864 to 1886 will be marked J. STEVENS & CO. From 1886 to 1916 they were marked J. STEVENS A & T CO or J. STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO. No Stevens firearms were manufactured from 1916 until 1920 when Savage Arms purchased the facilities and name. From 1920 until 1942 (or '48) Savage marked guns J. STEVENS ARMS CO and after that simply STEVENS or STEVENS/SAVAGE. The Stevens name was discontinued in 1991. They are generally valued around $150 -250
The Stevens Model 94 single shot shotgun is blook booked up to $150, depending upon condition. Generall, there is no collectors' interest in these utility shotguns.
That is a single-shot shotgun built by Savage for Sears. Basically the same as the Savage/Stevens Model 94. $75 in top condition. firstname.lastname@example.org
The value of a savage Stevens model 51 single shot would depend on a couple things. The main factor would be the condition.
The information you seek is somtimes hard to find because these shotguns are listed as savage/stevens which infers that these guns were made by one company savage, which owned the stevens name along with it,s own.The model in question which is a stevens model 237 was made by savage/stevens in the years 1936-1943,with a total production of 16,000 guns made.
I was looking for the same, and I came upon a site that said it is worth about a $100.00 in most areas, not very appealing to collectors, apparently it was made around 1950, chicopee falls plant closed in 1960, and was made sometime after WWII. sorry no more info on this subject.
The savage model 220 single barrel shotgun was made from 1938-1965.
