The 94 series was Savage/Stevens workhorse single-shot shotgun produced for many years and in many variations. Typically can be found for less than $100. www.countrygunsmith.net

Not much beyond what is stamped on the gun. Manufactured 1931-1941 by the Stevens division of Savage Arms in Chicopee, Mass.

it means it was manufactured on April 17,1894 . I have the same rifle and manufactured date. I am wondering what the value is . If you find out my e-mail is scottbartel@live.com

The Stevens 311 was marked as model 5000 from about 1920 to 1931, then 5100 until 1941. Most references just list the 311 as if it had the same model number for the entire production period.

You have an interesting gun. Thet were made from 1920's until 1934. They stopped making them because under the new gun laws it was considered a sawed off shotgun.

The 5100 was made from 1931 to 1941. I didn't know a single trigger was available in the Springfield line. I own an old Springfield double barrel 20 gauge, serial number E67029. Is Springfield the actual model name, I see no reference anywhere to a model 5100. How do I verify what I have. Well, Apollo50, tell us what IS marked on it and maybe we can tell you something.

i don't know this answer but i have a this exact shotgun that was patented on this exact date that was given to me from my grandpa

The JStevens Arms Company Model 235 double-barrel shotgun was made from 1912 to 1932. However, there were no guns made by the company from 1916 until 1920.

No, but gunpartscorp MAY have part you need. Check their website.

NO NO NO! Only shoot what the rifle is chambered for and so marked.

Go to Numrich Gun Parts Corp.they should help.

Your J Stevens model 59A shotgun not rifle was made from 1938-1945.

The model number should be on top of the barrel just ahead of the receiver the manufacture and model should be together.

HI,I just obtained a J.Stevens arms company Rifle.Chicopee Falls Mass.USA,It is sn#e325 pump vis loading repeater.22 long or short rifle ,Pat.April 30-07 , 14 1/2 -I'm guessing that's inches.Its small .Wooden stock

well about $500 if great and 450 if it's good. all and all great gun.

Im not sure what the exact dates are, The one I have was bought by my dad when he was a freshman in high school, that was in 1956, and it was used then. I still have it and its a great gun!!!

Priceless, I have had one passed down through my family and all you need is good lubrication. It keeps on giving.

Ranger on Browning Patent This was also sold by Sears , but made by Stevens between 1912 and 1942. It was not made by Browning. Typically they are valued between $100-$250 depending on condition.

Then in order to answer it, WE need information. The J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company was purchased by Savage in about 1920, but continued making guns under the Stevens name. If you need date of manufacture, contact customer service at Savage website.

Condition and complete original parts (front & rear sight, magazine, scope bases, swivels, etc.) govern the value of the M416 rifle. As seen on the Internet today (01/23/08), prices varied from $300 to $500.

This pistol should not be fired with modern ammunition! J Stevens firearms were mfg 1886 to 1920 and ctgs were loaded with black powder.

The Stevens 225 double barreled shotgun is worth $150-$200, depending on condition. If one has been made into a handgun with barrels less than 18 inches, overall length less than 26 inches, it is worth 10 years in a Federal prison unless it has been registered with the Federal BATFE.

There are two different 25-20 cartridges. Standard and Single Shot and they are not interchangeable. 25-20 Single shot is about 0.25 inch longer and a bit slimmer. That's why standard 25-20 won't chamber.

Of course there is a serial number, but with all the rust you might not be able to make it out completely. In this kind of condition, the usefulness of this particular gun is practically reduced to parts value. For more history about J Stevens,How old are J Stevens riflesNow owned by Savage, they don't answer to Stevens owners.Regrettably -RicThe name J Stevens and Company was used from 1864 until 1886. It probably doesn't have a serial number. If you get a copy of The Standard Catalog of Firearms, you may be able to identify the model, but it won't be worth much in the condition you describe.

A key determinant is how the company name is marked (Stevens, J. Stevens Arms, J. Stevens Arms and Tool, J. Stevens Arms Co). Then you can date its manufacture +/- 20 years. Looking at the barrels should tell you if it is damascus. You should be able to find pictures of damascus and other laminated barrels on the internet. Most Stevens doubles will also have a patent date marked on the right side of the receiver. This will give you a "no earlier than" date for its manufacture.According to the 5th Edition of Standard Catalog of Firearms (Krause Publications), p. 677 "Collectors will find a date code stamped on every double-barrel shotgun in the Stevens brands produced between March 1949 and December 1968. Usually, it is behind the hinge pin or ahead of the triggerguard on the bottom of the frame. It will appear as a small circle containing a number and letter. The letters cofrrespond to the years shown in the following table. Significance of the numbers is not known [examples are provided: A=1949; B=1950; C=195l, etc.]." I determined that my Stevens 311D is a "circle G," or, made in 1955.More Information NeededThis can only be answered by knowing exactly how the company name is marked (Stevens, J. Stevens Arms, J. Stevens Arms and Tool, J. Stevens Arms Co). Then you can date its manufacture +/- 20 years. Ask a new question with these details for your firearm.I have a JStevens Arms.Co. Singleshot 410 made in Chicope,Mass it is a Springfield with a Prove Selected forged barrel any Ideas as to its date there is also a circle with a 21 engraved in it
