You may be added to someone else's policy as a driver if you operate their vehicle. You cannot put a vehicle titled in your name on someone elses policy. The vehicle must be insured in the name of the person who owns the policy.
I would say no. You cannot insure a vehicle that you do not own. I know in my state the registration is issued in the name of the person who owns the vehicle. I don't know of any instance where it would be different.
Who owns the car, the co or the person?
In a loan where the vehicle is the collateral, it is registered, but if you do not keep up with your payments, the bank stakes their claim and reposseses it, so in a way, the bank owns it, and it is a rent-to-own vehicle.
The lender owns the vehicle until it is payed for by the lender. The Primary lender will own the vehicle once it is payed for. It also depends on whose name appears on the title.
Those person(s) whose names appear on the title of the vehicle are the legal owners.
