Take the inside plate off of the door, turn the dial until you see when the lock lines up. Probable a 3 or 4 nunber combination and left right or right left. you will be alble to tell once you look at the lock.
Dial the correct number to open the lock. There is a combination dial on the machine.
Right.
The first combination lock was with a dial type system dated back to midevil times. But not nea similar to modern day combination locks.
Problems resetting and lock 3-dial combo lock
By definition, a combination lock cannot be picked, as it has no key. It can be "cracked" in some cases where putting pressure on the lock and diagnosing the dial can reveal the combination. It can also be "bypassed" where tools are used to open the lock without the use of the combination. Neither of these are "picking" the lock however. In order to pick a lock, it must have a key of some type.
If you know the combination, dial it in, then close the lock, then press and hold the "reset" button. Whatever number you set before releasing the "reset" button will be the new combination.
can you tell me how to reset a Heys padlock, my lock already open and not can not lock cause i forgot the combination
What you do is go back to the store you got your lock and ask a staff there to help you. And then ask him/her what your problem is so they can help you. Hope this works, bye.
I'm not sure which master lock you are asking about, but see related links below for methods of opening combination locks
Look @ the position of the dial when the tumblers lie up. The use this formula. Consider the dial as the face of a clock. Say the dial is in the 37 minute position. Multiply 37x pi {3.14) add 13 then divide by 3. Voila, Now you have the combination! Or, use a grinder and grind the lock off. It's a little easier
There are many different ways a combination lock can be built, the two most common are the "dial" and the "disk" construction. In both types rotating "tumblers" must become aligned so that an unblocked slot through the stack of tumblers allows the "bolt" to slide and unlock the mechanism."dial" combination locks have a single rotating dial with a scale on its outside edge, this dial is rotated in alternating directions to enter the combination, if any error is made the entire combination must be reentered from the beginning, the "tumblers" in this type of combination lock are hidden inside and they are temporarily connected by pins on opposite sides to allow the rotations of the dial to turn them into position to align their slots"disk" combination locks have several separate disks with numbers or letters marked on them, each disk is individually turned to enter the combination, if an error is made only the incorrect disks must turned, the "tumblers" in this type of combination lock are the inside part of each disk allowing them to be independently turned into position to align their slots
To open a Brinks lock you first have to set the lock on zero. Next you turn it clockwise four complete turns, then do it once more stopping on the first number of the combination. Then turn the dial counter clockwise for two turns, do it once more and stop on the second number, turn the dial clockwise twice stopping on the third number of the combination, finally turn counter clockwise to the fourth number. The lock should then open.
