Make sure the email setting is on to get notified when you get recommended.

Once you do that you'll get an email each time someone recommended you. If they recommended you through a question page the name of the question will be mentioned in that email and that's how you'll know for which answer you were recommended.

How many trust points have been given in total on WikiAnswers?

It would be impossible to say. (See the Related question for a list of contributors who have achieved a minimum of 2,000 trust points.)

How do you figure out if the answers someone answers to you are true or false?

You don't, not without checking other sources. WikiAnswers is a wiki, so anyone can answer a question or ask one. A good way to tell if other people think that the answers that someone has been giving in the past have been accurate is to look at their trust points. The more trust points someone has the more people have liked their previous answers, making them a more credible source.

Why am I not getting any trust points on WikiAnswers?

Because you have not even given yourself a trust point sarah199595 during the six months that you have used this site. You still have 0 trust points after 6 months at the site. If you have asked for updates to questions you will see my answer and maybe give yourself your first point. If anyone is curious to see if Sarah has given herself a point they need to click on her link in the question history. In fact just click on history and you can see the number of points after her name. you have to be good. If you have not been earning any trust points, it may be because of any of these reasons: * you have not been spending a lot of time around WikiAnswers * you have not been answering questions * you have been answering questions without thinking about them or just writing random answers like **********

Do people actually trust WikiAnswers?

Many people do. There are some good answers on it. If someone gets their question answered, they will trust it. Some people may not have their question answered, so they will not trust it. The majority of answers given are correct as the majority of contributors give correct answers. There are also people looking out for questions that have been answered wrongly and will try to fix them, or remove any silly answers or comments made.

Are you a good contributor if you have over 100 trust points on WikiAnswers?

Having over 100 Trust Points is a great number. Yet, it depends on how long you have been a member of WikiAnswers. For example, if you have been with Wiki for 10 years and you have 100 Trust Points, that isn't too good. On the other hand, if you have been a member for 1 year, that is a great number. Trust Points don't always judge a contributor, yet it is a factor.

Have they ever given points on a dunk that was called for charging and was still given the points?

You do not get points on a dunk that was called for charging normally. There may be times when it has been given though.

If you have lots of trust points then do you have more of a chance of getting more trust points?

You don't get a lot of trust points, unless you have provided a lot of good answers. If you stop answering questions, the old ones are still there. It is possible that someone has added to your answer, and now they will get trust points from other users, because your name will no longer be listed as the last contributor. So, to keep accumulating trust points, keep providing new answers. You can get more trust points by stealing someone's answer, which isn't recommended. Some people just click on the Edit button, but don't really edit anything. If the answer itself was good enough, the original editor gets many trust points. When you click on "Save", your name will replace the original editor's name. Someone will think that you are the one who entered the good answer, and give you trust points. This is wrong, to steal someone's copyrighted answers. However, others may know that you stole their answer, because someone's name will appear and it will say "First answer by _____" before their name and "Last edit by" before your name. You can answer a question without replacing someone's name, by checking "Mark this as a minor edit under your answer box, when editing it.The Trust Point Leader is Marcy with 8,977 Trust Points by 10 July 2012. What is the small number next to Members names?

If you are talking about this site, you probably mean the recommendation, or trust points. They are usually in brackets after user names. People are free to give a recommendation to the contributor of an answer. For answers that have been written by several people, the last to make a substantial contribution can claim being the 'last editor', and that person's name appears after the answer. Users can recommend that last editor, and the person's numbers go up. You can recommend any given user once. It is a very general indication that that many people liked contributions made by that member. Keep in mind that many members spend a great deal of time with editing, categorizing and other site tasks for which trust points are not given. So take all answers at face value, and give a trust point for what you think is a good answer, unless you have already given one to that contributor.
