Fuel gauge not working on Audi 80 1986. I've tested the wires (with a test pencil) that lead to the sender unit and there is no power. I can't find a fuse for this circuit either.
it can be one of three things . a fuse , gauge, or sender. try puting a loop wire in the connector that goes to the switch on the thermostat housing do not reconnect until you turn on the ignition if the gauge now works then the problem is the sender . if it dos not then take loop wire out and reconnect . now find the fuse that supports the temp gauge and make sure its ok. if it still does not work its the gauge voltage regulator so the gauge will have to be replaced. hope this is of help kiffie
In the 1999-2002 vans, the fuel level senders were not robust to alcohols and either the resistor degraded and stopped working or the fingers on the sender corroded and broke off. Very common problem. It will cause intermittent operation of the fuel gauge or complete failure. You have to remove the fuel tank and replace the fuel sending unit.
Start by checking the Audi's blower motor fuse. Check the blower switch, resister, and lastly, check the motor to find the problem.
Hey William==This means that the gauge on the dash isn't getting a signal from the sending unit. The sender is either not plugged in or there is a break in the wire somewhere. GoodluckJoe
you can unhook the wires to the sender on top of the tank and with a 12v test light - find the terminal that blinks on and off and ground it -with the key on - and the gauge should go to full if gauge is functioning ----if not it may be a bad gauge
astra mk4 year 2000 fuel gauge doesent move at all i wonder if earth wire is bad but i cant find the earth wire does any body know where it is or if there is a fuse i dont think its sender unit it doesent move at all if it was faulty it would move to full then i would knoe it was sender unit
One can find more information on Audi Dealers at one's local Audi dealer. Alternatively, one can learn about Audi dealers on the Audi manufacturer website as well.
Most likely the fuel level sender inside the gas tank is bad. The sensor fingers get corroded. But it could also be a wiring problem under the van just behind the drivers seat. Crawl under the van to find the connector, unplug it and look for corrosion.
It could possably be the send on the motor. You will find it located beside and a little down from the oil fillter. Remove the fillter, remove the sender[caution with the wire connector, worm it up with a hair dryer] install a new sender and connect the wire. hope that works.
Did you find the problem? I have the same issue.
One can find information about the Audi a8 2009 by visiting the Audi website. Another option is to visit a local Audi dealer and inquire about the vehicle.
The average price for a 2013 Audi car depends on the model of the Audi, you can find basic Audi models for $60,000 or you can find more expensive ones for $250,000 or more.
