The mass number of an atom is the number of protons plus the number of neutrons. This is is the same as the number of electrons plus the number of neutrons since the number of protons is the same as the number of electrons in an atom.

How do you calculate the number of proton neutron and electron using atomic no and mass no?

atomic # = protons atomic mass - atomic number = neutrons atomic # - charge = electrons

What types of particles are proton and neutrons and electrons?

sub atomic

How many protons neutrons and electrons are in Bi?

Five proton and electrons, 6 neutrons. This because this is the atomic number of boron, which states how many protons and electron in the element. For neutrons you must subtract the atomic number (5 in this case) from the rounded. average atomic mass.

What is the number of neutrons mass atomic protons electrons in tritium?

1 proton 1 electron 2 neutrons mass = 3 amu

What is the atom number in a proton?

there are no atoms in a proton. a Proton is a part in the nuleus of an atom. the other parts of an atom are neutrons and electrons

How many protons neutrons electrons in atom of fluorine?

An atom of Fluorine has the atomic number 9 and the mass number 19 (rounded up). This means it has 9 electrons, 9 protons and (19-9) 10 neutrons. The proton and electron count are taken from the atomic number. The mass number - the atomic number gives the number of neutrons.

Do isotopes of an element have the same atomic number?

They have the same number of protons (and electrons) - so proton number. They have a varying number of neutrons - Mass number. Proton number and Atomic number mean the same things, so Isotopes of an element have the same atomic number.

How many proton's neutrons and electrons of Pb are present with a mass number of 207 and an atomic number of 82?

atomic mass equal to number of protons and neutrons. If Pb has a mass of 207 and an atomic number of 82, that means that there are 82 protons in Pb, which also means there should be 82 electrons. That leaves neutrons, which would be 207-82=125 neutrons.

How do you determine the number of neutron?

Protons = Atomic Number Electrons = Atomic Number Neutrons = Atomic Mass - Atomic Number *A note on Atomic Mass* Atomic Mass is the sum of the number of protons and neutrons in an atom. Every time you remove or add a Proton/Electron or a Neutron, you change the mass by one. *A note on Protons and Electrons* The number of Protons and Electrons in an atom is always the same. Whenever you talk about adding/removing a proton or an electron, you are by default adding/removing one of the other as well.

Atomic mass is number of protons added to the number of neutrons. Why is number of electrons not included in it?

Because electrons are very light particles and do not effect the mass, if proton and neutrons are elephant then electrons are ants , how ants effect the mass and weight of elephant ?

Protons are the same as the mass or the atomic?

The atomic number is the number of protons. For example, the atomic number of Hydrogen is 1, because it has 1 proton. The mass is calculated using protons, neutrons, and electrons.

How many protons an electrons are in astatine?
