When you click the button to feed your howrse, it will indicate how much fodder it needs.
go to the 'feed' box then next to the 'fodder' drop down box there will be a number a slash then another number. The number on the left is how much your horse has eaten and the number on the right is how much your horse should be eating.

All you have to do is go on feed click on fodder choose your amount scroll to the bottom the click feed (it will display the price) or simply place your horse in the meadow

When a horse is under weight you should feed him the full amount of forage/fodder that is Possible then age them with an aging point and feed them the full amount! happy howrsing!
