LRPDV is Locked Rotor Pull-down Voltage.

What wattmeter indicate for blocked rotor test?

There is one thing that watt-meter indicates of blocked rotor test. That is the voltage flows and in blocked rotor test.

How does ac electric motor convert in to an alternator?

a motor is a generator and a generator is a motor, if you are applying a voltage to turn the rotor its a motor and if you are turning the rotor and taking the voltage off the terminals its a generator or alternator.

What is alternator?

It is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy on a car. It works by:the alternator creates an electric field by spinning a magnetic rotor with direct current inside stator windings. an ac voltage is developed and rectified dc. this voltage is compared to the battery voltage and determines the current through the rotor. if the battery voltage is lower than the alternator voltage, more current through the rotor increases the magnetic field and creates a larger alternator voltage. if the battery voltage is higher, less current through the rotor decreases the alternator voltage.

Can a motor produce current?

A normal ac motor has a squirrel cage rotor that is made to turn with a changing magnetic field. If you move a magnet in a conducter it will generate a voltage, therefore the rotor will not really generate a useable voltage. It does generate a little bit but if you load it it will go close to 0 Volts. If you have a correct magnet in place of the rotor it will generate a voltage.

Why are rotor core losses fixed?

Its not only about rotor, Core losses of every machine which has core are fixed and only vary with Voltage variation.

What is working principle of synchros?

when rotor excited by ac voltage , the rotor current flow , and a magnetic field is produced .the rotor magnetic field induced an emf in the stator coils by transformer action.the effective voltage induced in any stator coildepend upon the angular position of te coil's axis w.r.t rotor axis sthitaprajna.rath@gmail.com

What is the excitation of the generator?

The rotor must have a magnetic field in order to generator voltage in stator winding. The exciter circuit generates this DC filed in the rotor.
