laguna has automatic tensioner, so don't adjust!
According to the Gates website it has a chain and not a belt. To be sure look in your owners manual or contact your Renault dealer.
I have a Renault Laguna 1.9 CDTI, and I do not know when I replace the timing belt and the meter is 69,000 thousand miles, I suspect that the previous owner, please do not mention the hint. Andrew
Is the timing belt on a j30 infinity run the alternator
Just paid £290, for 2.2 diesel, Renault quoted £360
5 years or 50k miles
you need a new alternator/belt
YOU SHOULD CHANGE THE CAM BELT EVERY 30,000 MILES OR EVERY FIVE YEARS,WHICH EVER COMES FIRST.
On my 2001 MY 1.9DCI its 100,000Miles or 5 Years, whichever comes first. Dont skimp and just get the belt, Renault do a kit which contains tensioners too.
remove belt, remove alternator plugs, then bolts. pull out alternator. then undo bolts for bracket and remove.
The pulley bellow the alternator is the tensioner. Rotate it with a 15mm to loosen belt.
