I own a 2002 Kia Sportage I installed warn hubs on it . It is very easy on the 2002 you dont even have to remove the wheels . remove the center cap off of the wheel,then remove the bolts on the old hub remove old hub replace with new hub tighten bolts your done but the center cap will not fit.

No, unfortunately they are different. 01 and 02 models have the same exact suspension including the wheel hubs, but the face-lifted 03 model along with later models have a slight difference in the design where the screws fit. But it has nothing to do with whether it is the sedan or the rx-v, it the model's year that matters.
What other problem would cause the 4WD to not engage in a 1999 Kia Sportage if the worn vacuum lines going to the wheels were replaced?
There are several things that can cause the hubs to fail to engage. The root cause in my opinion is a poor mechanical design. The slightest vacuum leak can cause hubs to not engage. Your vacuum canister may also have water in it or adjacent rubber vacuum lines may be cracked. The grease on the wheel axles may have stiffened or hardened causing hubs to not engage even with proper vacuum. You will continue to have problems with the so-called automatic vacuum hubs until you replace them with WARN Manual hubs. It's a half hour job and only a few tools are required - 10mm socket and screwdriver. If you are bit handy, you can use a dremmel tool to carefully remove the center portion of the chrome plastic wheel caps so that they fit over the Warn hubs making a nice clean looking job to complete your permanent fix. The WARN hubs can be purchased off Ebay for apx. $120. Money well spent. You will have to manually engage the hubs after you install them by getting out the vehicle to rotate the hub engage mechanisms on each wheel, but very minor inconvienence in my opinion. When you are ready to return to two wheel drive, simply stop the vehicle, get out and return the hub mechanisms to their disengaged position and put the 4 wheel shift lever back in 2WD position. I have had three 4x4 Kias since 1998 and have replaced the vacuum hubs on all of them due to almost predictable annual failure! Hope this helps.

I have stated before and I'll keep stating it. Although there are mechenics that will make it fit, federal laws makes it illegal because of our smog laws. First of all the computers are different and second more important smog garages will not pass it. Because you'll be driving this vehicle i imagine, it would be wise of you to try and obtain a wiring diagram of both years and compare, because some things are different. that's what makes them new models.
