check the vehicle speed sensor buffer located buy the computer look under and behind the glovebox
Answer 85 Toyota PU gaugesSince the speedometer is a mechanical connection and the rest electical, about the only thing that is going to affect them all is water. Does the windshield leak. Could be just bad luck the speedometer went at the same time as the gauges, but doubtful.
Check the fuses.
Saturns do not use a speedometer cable to control the gauges on the cluster. It uses the magnetic pickup located in the vehicle speed sensor, mounted in the back side of the transmission. The computer then sends signals to the dashboard to operate the gauges electronically
the little gear that turns the numbers is broke and the only way to fix is replace the whole speedometer.
I am not sure if the 1999 is a magnetic pickup but my 2000 or late 1999 uses a magnetic pickup that screws into the side of the transmission. It has a wire plug that unplugs from it and they you can unscrew it from the side of the transmission. When my speedometer quit working it also cause the transmission not to shift correctly. I unscrewed the magnetic pickup and it was covered with iron filing which I removed with a clean cloth. When I screwed the old pickup back in the transmission I made sure it was not in far enough to rub on the gear teeth that rotate by it. The speedometer and the transmission worked fine after removing the iron filings from the end of the pickup.
you have a shorting wire someplace
Someone knocked a wire loose.
The exact location of the speedometer cable is dependent upon the make and model of your 1994 pickup truck. In general, the speedometer cable goes from the speedometer to the speed sensor.
There is no speedometer cable on that vehicle. The speedometer is driven electronically.
Check for a loose wire or loose fuse
The speedometer is electronic on a 1999 Ram, and does not have a cable.
I'd check the fuses first and if OK, check under/pull the dash and see if everythings hooked up OK.
