That year transmission did not HAVE a modulator valve. That year used a 4L60E / And the E stands for electronic transmission. NO valve. It is all computer controled.
You need to ask your nearest GM dealer about this one
Try adjusting the modulator valve
first you cant just fix the problem. you have to take it to a mechanic shop to get the real problem located ther are many differnt problems it could be, intake valve sticking or oil valve sticking or even a short to the valve modulator. hope this helps
chances are it's the modulator valve that's bad. the modulator valve helps build up pressure in the transmission to shift gears. it's usually located on the side of the transmission. it's silver and round like a fuel pressure regulator. very cheap to fix!
Take it to a Ford garage or someone who is familiar with Modulators
With a new valve gasket
Remove the head and have the valve reseated or replaced.
The car code p0446 is a faulty vent valve. To fix this problem, the vent valve will need to be replaced.
Replace the valve seal and check the valve guide for wear.
You don't fix it, you replace it.
The best way to fix an expansion valve for the A/C system is to replace it. of course then you have to evacuate and recharge with freon.
