You first need to tell us what exactly is broken.
To fix a rear driver's side brake line on a 1994 GMC Sierra 4x4 at a shop can run as high as $300. The parts can be purchased to repair the brake line for under $50.
Ok so i figured this one out on my own. Remove the rear tire that the brake is locked up on, if the hand brake is on, lower the lever in the car. locate the e-brake wire on the rear of the disk brake/caliper. This should be behind the rotor and caliber and is identifible by the fact that it is not a hydraulic line. You should see that it is held in place by a bracket with tension on it, hence why the brake is "locked" remove the bracket holding in the brake line in place {not the hydraulic line!!} Once the bracket is removed simple pull out the e-brake line with a pair of pliers, Shazam! the brake should release. If not a few light taps with a hammer should help. Save the bracket for the e-brake as you will need it if you ever decide to fix it. This is a temporay fix with no real long term affects to your braking system, Except the fact that you will only have one E brake working.
If you are talking about the steel brake lines, most likely the rear lines, then replace both from front to back.
Front wheel or rear wheel with external gears - say 5-10 minutes for a normally fitting tire. Rear wheel with internal gears or coaster brake - say 15 minutes for a normally fitting tire. This is assuming a straight off swap of tube/tire.
There is no safe way to repair a broken or leaking brake line. The line or tubing that is leaking must be replaced or a new piece of tube, spliced into the line with fittings, to replace the leaking area.
Replace the brake line, bleed the brake. top up with brake fluid. Done.
Rear disc ? if it is rear disc brakes there is a drum brake in side of the rear rotor that is your parking brake and has an adjuster in it if you pull the rotor off.
Take off tire and rear brakes off. Take the rear disk or drum off. Replace all damage or broken parts. readjust e-brakes. Reinstall everything and your done.
depends where the leak is. In the brake line or at the pump? electric or mech brakes? if its in the line you should be able to replace the line section
replace brake line
Replace and bleed line
To fix a clogged brake line, first find the clog. Then, remove the clogged line from the cylinder. Attach a new line, and pump the car's brake to test it before driving.
