There is no parking brake. You hold the tractor in place by putting it in park like a car with auto trans.
There are a couple of things you can try if your parking brake will not hold. First, try applying and releasing the parking brake several times over. This should allow the self-adjusters to re-tension the back brakes. You may have to do this a dozen times or more. If that doesn't work, try slowly driving your car backwards several feet and then suddenly and quickly step on the brake pedal. If the parking brake still fails to hold, you may have to have the back brakes manually adjusted by a mechanic.Ê
# To gain access to the parking brake adjuster raise the rear and support the truck # Remove the rubber plug from the brake backing plate and using a screwdriver or brake adjusting tool turn the adjusting screw star wheel until the parking brake shoe start to drag as the disc is turned then back off the star wheel until the shoes dont drag

There should be a parking brake lever above the parking brake pedal that you pull to disengage the parking brake. It depends on the type you have; if it is a pull-up lever in your center console they can give you a little trouble. Pull it up slightly and while you have upward pressure press and hold the button on the end, than it will drop.

I have driven Ford Tempo and Topaz and the DRL always went out when I applied the parking brake. It was many months after buying a 06 Focus that I noticed the DRL stayed on any time the ignition was on, regardless of the position of the parking brake. When I studied the owners manual I found that the DRL are only to be on when the parking brake is released. Asked the dealer to correct and was told it can't be done. Made several call the Ford Motor Company and was told the operators manual was correct and the DRL should go out. Talked to several dealers and they said no. Finally got a hold of a wiring diagram and found the lights are wired to stay on. Which is correct? The Operators Manual or the wiring diagram. Ford Motor Company refused to discuss it with me anymore.
