Well if u can get in the car, be it through a window opened or break it or a different door u could remove the interior door panel (which with the door closed will likely destroy it) and use a compact high speed cutter to cut out the door at the latch then open it. You will then need to repair the door with welding and such and replace the latch or buy another door from a salvage yard. Since this car has two broken latches that sounds like u can't open from the inside or outside then replacing the doors is likely the best solution after u do cut out the latches but this will cost u around a hundred bucks a door depending your location that can be + or - Good luck.
left door latch is broke
Sounds like the latch on the inside of the door is broke.
pull the door handle on the outside and open the latch by hand both at the same time
My door latch also broke (small washer pressed on a rivet popped off). I had to remove the inner trim panel and peel away the plastic sheeting to access the door latch lock rods. A new door latch from GM cost me about $40 and I spent a half hour installing it. Hope this helps.
The loop latch on the top of my 2003 Sonoma cargo door has recently broken off and I had to replace it. The plastic handle latch that you use to open the cargo door has broken once, too.
If the door feels like it is "hitting" on something, it is probably either worn hinge pings or the latch located on the body of the car (and not the door itself) is out of adjustment. If it closes but doesn't latch, it is either a faulty handle, latch, or latch rod/cable. All of these parts should be available at your local auto parts store.
My 2004 Sienna LE has 65,000 miles and the door latch has broken. The latch broke in half and the part connected to the door broke and fell inside the door - breaking my window clips. Now, I have to replace the window - or not be able to roll down the window. I have not had any problems with the lock breaking.
there is aq clip whivh is located on the rod going from the door handle to the door latch just find the clip and put back in is broken like mine i made a clip and it has not broke since.
Replace the door latch.
I have dealt with this problem before at our bodyshop. Basically, a spring inside the latch has broke, and now there is no way to release the latch, even by manually pulling on the release lever at the latch. Prepare to replace the latch, as it is not repairable. Be prepared to be working inside the car. To make it easier to work, unbolt the seat, and remove from the car. Remove the door panel, and also the door handle. You will have to chisel at the plastic part of the latch, and break it off bit by bit. Eventually you will be able to release the latch. good luck
If the door latch on a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer is broken on the car frame, a new latch might have to be welded in. The old door latch will have to be cut out with a torch. If the latch is broken on the door, a new door might be cheaper than welding in a new latch.
I have the same problem. I have had to take the inside off the door, and pull the metal rod back and forth quickly and hard to jerk the door open. Hope this helps
