i heard that you can "flush" the seals around the windows. the water is supposed to drain down these, but mine are leaking under the outside mirror's causing it to drain down the inside of the doors , over the speakers and onto the floors. i just can't figure out how to flush it.

Assuming you mean in a convertible, I used the Iron on patches on the inside of the top. (like the ones Mom used to fix the knees in my jeans) Holds up and works great.

Yes they could leak.
Replace the convertible door seal.
It is located in the trunk.

Unless you're a fantastic seamster or seamstress, this is a job for an upholstery or convertible top shop. Price to fix is between $200 to $500 depending on where you go.
I have a 2002 and there are plastic hoses running up through the back of the vehicle right below where the top rests when it's down. If you have a hole in one of them, fluid will leak out. If it's the top itself, you might want to try eBay for a replacement, or try to locate the hole and shoot some silicone it for a temporary fix.
