That means you accidentally put a password on your device and guess it wrong too many times. You just have to...
- Plug into iTunes
- Right click your iPod's name on the sidebar and click backup so you can keep our data from the process
- Then go to your iPod's summary page in iTunes and click Restore
- When restored to factory settings, set up your "new" iPod on iTunes
- When you come up to the step, choose to restore from backup DO NOT SET UP AS NEW DEVICE!
- Wait anxiously.
- Finish process and enjoy life again.

Connect your iPod to your computer. (Open iTunes)
Turn the iPod off after your computer recognises your iPod has been connected.
Put the iPod into DFU mode (you can find a guide to put your iPod into DFU mode in Google)
Wait until your computer recognises an iPod in recovery mode.
Click restore on iTunes. (You can choose the firmware you want by downloading it beforehand and by holding 'SHIFT' and clicking restore and locate the firmware you have downloaded)
Wait for the restore to finish and everything should be fine.
