Assuming the belt and pulleys are in good shape, put a dab of clear silicone grease on both sides of the belt. Do this with the engine off. Squeak is gone.
Either the belt is worn out or the tensioner is defective.
oil it or shoot a squealer
Replace with Good Year Gatorback belt. Costs more but worth the money.
It could mean the beginning of the end for your belt or the idler pulley, have them both checked out.
A squeaky belt is usually caused by a bad belt, a missaligned pulley, or something leaking on the belt.
If the motor has oil ports you can put in a few drops of oil. If the motor has sealed bearings you will need to replace it.To fix a squeaky furnace, you need to add oil to the motor bearings. In some cases it could also be due to the fan, which would then need to be replaced.
A squeaky alternator is sometimes a sign that the fan belt or something associated with it is squeaking, not the alternator. (Possibly the belt or belt tensioner) So first I'd make sure it's actually the alternator squeaking before I proceeded. You could try some belt dressing on the belt and see if that helps or changes the squeak. If however it is the alternator, that's usually a sign the bearing's gone out and you will need to replace the alternator.
First, you need to inspect the belt for cracks and defects. Also make sure that the belt is still flexible. If it does not have any problems, use tension bolt to tighten the belt.
With engine off try putting a small dab of silicone grease on each side of the belt. It works for me.
how to fix belt for peugeot 207 diesel
It is in the factory. To get it, fix the conveyor belt.
I would bring it in to a car shop because my family has had problems and it has been from the motor, to the belt, to the steering axle.
first try buying a small can of fan belt dressing and carefully put it on the SIDES of the belt (where it contacts the pulley). Also the belt may be streched - so you can try to tighten the belt by adjusting the takeup adjustor. Or finally replace the belt - if none of these work. Your car does not have a fan belt. Belt dressing is bad mmmmkay. Messy and will cause more problems (redneck temporary fix). Make sure your belt is tight or have someone check it for you. If it is a serpentine belt (tension is spring loaded) check the tensioner and check for bad pulley bearing. But in 2002, most fans are electric. which means no belt to squeal.
Install a new one. It's squeeling most likely because it is getting stretched.
you have to go to the factory and fix the conveor belt. then as a reward u will get the fan
Almost any store that sells parts and lubricants for vehicles will have a spray can of belt dressing. This stuff will quieten howling or squeaky belts but it's typically just a temporary fix. Glazing of the belt can be caused by excessive heat or by improper tension on the belt causing it to slip on the pulleys which could indicate a more serious problem.
Your local auto parts store should have several different brands in stock of belt dressing for squeaky drive belts.
Go to the factory and fix the conveyor belt. Once you do that, they give you a fan. Hope this helps!
