Try this:

  • Buy a can or 2 of throttle body cleaner
  • Grab an old toothbrush (you're not going to want to use it after this)
  • Remove the air hose/ductwork connected to the throttle body - the section to the left of the air cleaner (see Owners Manual for illustrations) 5/16" nut on the clamp holding it to the throttle body.
With the air cleaner duct of, you'll see the opening of the throttle body and likely find it's pretty crudded up with black residue.

Use lots and lots of the spray and the brush to every crack and crevice you can reach.

Note: most repair shops offer induction system cleaning - as a complement to fuel injection system cleaning - services. These are thorough and complete cleaning processes.
