No matter who the abuser is, you must leave the relationship. I think you already know that. Tell the police, or go to a local women shelter. Friends and family, no matter what they say, they want to help you, but I'm not going to lie, some families don't understand the troubles you are going through so if that fails contact authorities, with no relation to your husband. No matter what your husband says he will not stop abusing you. Also, if you have children with your abuser, it is 60% likey that a young boy will grow up to become an abuser himself, and i think around 40-50% chance of a young girl to become abused. I know you wouldn't want that for your children so please try to leave, and no matter what this is not a normal relationship, and you can't do this alone, someone out there will help, friends family officers, or a complete stranger on the computer... wink wink.. lol.. GOOD LUCK be safe.
PS DON"T STOP TRYING TO LEAVE!! It will be hard, but in the long run you deserve better, and things will get better!!!
There is no problem of gays in the military, so there is nothing to fix.
When two people take their marriage vows it is ''til death do us part' and no one said marriage would be a bed of roses. Most couples have some bumpy roads to go down in their marriage, but it's important to have good communication skills and the maturity to discuss their problems without always arguing. If one spouse is an alcoholic; drug user; has a gambling problem and refuses to get help then no, there is not much you can do to save the marriage. If the one spouse is physically or mentally abusive and refuses to get help then this is also a reason to leave the marriage.

Lots and lots of therapy, both individual and couples' therapy. The better way to fix an abusive relationship is to get out and cut your losses now. More than likely, it will not get better. You deserve more.

* No, keeping a log or journal of an occasional disagreement on a spouse is not abuse, but it is strange behavior. Your partner may feel that you are abusive and is reading material and keeping the log or journal to prove to themselves and perhaps you that indeed you are verbally abusive (even if you are not.) It would be wise to communicate well with your spouse and get to the bottom of this problem. All the reading on verbal abuse and logs or journal entries will not fix anything that is wrong in the marriage. The only other possible reason for this behavior is if your spouse is a psychologist; psychiatrist or taking a psych course.
