for this task you will need either a compression tester or a "bullet".(go for the tester)also you'll need your firing order. *bring the number one piston to top dead center on a compression stroke.(use the tester for this) *remove the distributor cap and look at which way the rotor is pointing because that will be your number one spot.(also note the rotors rotation pattern either clockwise or counter clockwise) *put the distributor cap back on remembering which way the rotor was pointing.that particular point on the cap will be where you place the number one sparkplug wire. *connect that number one wire to the number one cilynder *now simply follow the pattern and re-attached the wires following the firing order and rotation of the rotor. *(after attaching the number one wire attached the next corresepondend wire next to the number one spot going in the direction that the rotor is turning.) is easier to do than to explain.you'll see.
Pull them off of the spark plugs and distributer cap. . .
what kind of wires- electrical??, spark plugs??, battery??
If you mean, what if your spark plug wires were crossed up, the engine would run terrible if it ran at all.
the only thing crossed spark plug wires can do is cause one to misfire.
the ignition module is on the distributer(the thing all the spark plugs wires go to)
bad plugs, wires, distributer if it has one, bad igniter, faulty wiring.....
those particular wires and plugs are located in the engine compartment under the hood of that Lincoln the spark plugs are located on both sides of the engine block about half way down the wires are connected to the spark plugs and then run all the way to the coil/distributer whatever that particular model has good luck
Spark plug wires go from the distributer to the spark plugs which are located just below the valve covers between the exaust ports.
check the distributer or change the spark plug wires and spark plugs this happened to my try changing the moguel
Bad coil, Bad damaged or unplugged crank/cam position sensor, bad rotor, distributer cap, faulty distributer, plugs wires
Look on cap, motor head, sticker on bottom of hood or owners manual
could be , bad plug wires, bad distributer cap more than likely to be a bad coil or a bad condensor
