You need to have the system checked for codes. You can then diagnose and find and repair the cause.
You will need to remove the dashboard panel in order to replace the electronic throttle control light. With the dashboard panel removed the light can be access to be replaced.
The first step is have the system checked for trouble codes. The cause will be the main factor in the repair.
The lightning bolt light stays on when there is a malfunction in the electronic throttle system. The engine computer will have set a code. No there is not a On or Off switch, it is controled by an electronic control module that that turns the light on when it detects a problem in the system, when you fix the problem and clear the codes, the light goes out.
The cruise control relay is in the engine compartment on a 1994 Escort LX 1.9L. It is part of a bank of relay switches near the battery. The cruise control is also controlled by the electronic speed sensor on the throttle body (carburetor).
U need to clean the throttle body and also clean the idle air control vavle
hi there if i remember the distributor is troublesome and you have to replace the whole thing
merced throttle body s420
does it stall when you stop? like at a light.the most common stalling without tripping the check engine light is the idle air control motor.they get lazy and slow when you let off the throttle they control the air flow to the throttle body for proper idle.the iac is located on the back of the throttle body.remove it and see how filthy it is.clean it and the hole it lives in with throttle cleaner.if its really filthy this may fix it.if not get a new one.if not at a stop shoot me a message I'll try to help
For which veh?
Clean the throttle body
If you have a cable operated throttle body it's probably a bad idle control. Depending on your parts supplier they might call the idle control an IAC or ISC or IBP. If you replace the idle control, you should first clean the inside of the throttle body thoroughly using throttle plate cleaner and either a soft brush or a rag, then run the engine for a few minutes. If you have an electronically controlled throttle body, suspect a damaged throttle body or a broken wire near the connector at the throttle body.
