Replace the alarm unit that is located under the cowling in the engine compartment by the wipers. You'll need a puller for the wiper arms, a T25 Torx bit and a T30 torx security bit and a 13mm wrench.

Check and make sure you have no malfunctioning closure switches (hood ,doors, hatch etc. prior to replacement.
Verify your car battery is up to snuff also.
manualy unlock the passenger door with your door key,while the alarm is going off.it may take a few trys but it will work. the car wont start after alarm going off, do i need a new battery or can i just turn off the alarm and the car is a 1994 Chrysler lhs
It has something to do with your alarm 'accentuator' - contact Toyota about this since it might be a recalled item.

If there is a fire alarm going off you should call the fire department. There may be a gas or carbon monoxide leak. If the fire department is called, the landlord will be forced to do something.
Check the door light switches. One could be going bad and triggering the alarm.

I have always had a problem with my alarm going off for no reason so I always turn it off when I lock the doors by turning the key (in the door) twice to the right and once to the left.
my alarm goes off at random times. i had the alarm module changed for $700 and it still goes off. come home from work at 4 and it goes off at 10. before the alarm module was changed it went off at 12, 2 and 4 in the morning.
