set the van up on jack stands. disconnect the battery terminals...This is a direct feed and you will probably get shocked.....from underneath you'll see on the front of the motor where the starter is. dead center. You will have two bolts and two wire connectors. One is a quick disconnect and the other is a "b"connector (ie on with a nut) Once you have all that disconnected it will come right out along with a shim. Don't throw away just yet. Take the new starter and look at the shim inside. Make sure it matches the old one. It may be matched to that starter, but just keep this in mind for later. Put the shim on the starter and install. Turn car over, if it makes a grinding noise or doesn't turn over at all you make want to use your old shim. Make sure all your connections are made first.
