The probable cause of the brake lights not working on your Renault is the brake light switch. The brake light switch can be found under the dashboard by the foot pedal.
yes it is found in lights bulbs.. Xp
check all brake bulbs a filiment may have shorted out
The brake lights propbably don't work because the brake light switch (found at the brake pedal) has failed. A problem with falcons all the way through. To check them, disconnect the switch wiring. get a length of wire with a 10A fuse in line with it. basically what your trying to do is bypass the switch. if the brake lights come on when you complet the circuit, the switch will be the fault.
We found the answer to the above question Thank you
You have a short, you also may have to check your bulbs i found on one of my blinkers the bulb was faulty, i replaced it and everything was all fine again.
I have a 79 ford chatou 12 seater van. everything works the bulbs are good but the brake lights wont turn on when I step on the pedal. whats up? if its my brake switch should I change it out? or can it be fixed also which fuse is my brake lights? wouldn't the lights all be on one fuse? I just took it to a garage today and was told it needed a turn signal assm. The price would be 780.00. I paid 89.99 for this info. and brought my car home. I had never tried the hazard lights and after reading this I went out to try my hazard lights. I found the hazard button stuck. after pushing it down forcefully the hazard lights went on and, now I have brake lights. This may be temporary I don't know, but I now have fully fuctioning lights. I had the same problem with my 99 grand prix and changed bulbs brake light swith , fuses and found out that it was a multi - function switch that was causing my brake lights not to work it was a little expensive but you need brake lights!I too had the same problem. I did the exact same thing as stated above, the hazard button was hard to push down, after I got it down, I had fully functioning brake lights. I would like to hear from the previous poster as to if this fixed his problem, or did it happen again?
There is a switch behind your brake pedal called a "Stop Light Switch." You can get it from Autozone for like 7.00 bucks. We just had to do that to my 2001 Leganza, the brake lights all stopped working and found out that what what it was. All you have to do is unscrew one bolt and pop the old one out and slide the new one in. It takes less than 5 mins.
I had the same trouble. Found it to be a short in the front parking light bulbs. I had to take it to a GM dealer and pay over $100 just to find out it was as simple as that. It worked for me. Good luck.
I found it easier to use the wires to the tail lights on the tractor.
The tail light circuit is separate from the brake and signal light circuit. So, check the fuses, check the bulbs, check the sockets and if you haven't found the problem yet, check the wiring.
